Is Normani dropping new track? Singer promises ‘genre bending’ song, fans say 'she’s playing’
A day after former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello teased her new music on Instagram stories, another former member of the group Normani decided to pull off the same stunt as she hyped her fans with a few cryptic posts on the photo-sharing app. The ‘Motivation’ hitmaker has been teasing her solo debut effort for the last two years but nothing seems to be in sight.
Social media users lost their calm after Normani shared multiple cryptic posts wherein of them, she asked her loyal fans what her next song is going to sound like. While a few showed interest in the same, others asked when will she finally drop her album as they were tired of the singles. Normani, whose real name is Normani Kordei Hamilton, dropped only one song in 2021 i.e. ‘Wild Side’ where she tapped rap icon Cardi B for a steamy music video.

Normani promises “genre bending’ song in new cryptic posts
Normani first shared a picture of a written note with her close to seven million followers on Instagram that read, “What do you think my next single sounds like”. She signed the hand-written note with her nickname Mani. When one of her fans expressed how they wanted the song, Normani replied it by saying, “This one is really unique and different for me. Probably what not everyone is expecting.” In her next Instagram story, the Georgia crooner claimed that her new song will be a genre-bending. “Genre bending for sure. It’s just a great record”, said the crooner.
Normani has not shared any official release date of her new single. She is also yet to reveal the name of the song. However, it is rumored that the new song might be titled ‘Apple Martini’ after she shared picture of the same on her social media account. Speaking about her solo debut album in an interview with Women’s Health Magazine in November 2020, Normani said, “For a long time, I was stressed out about checking boxes like, ‘Is this Black enough? Is this pop enough?’ But music started feeling way better when I just went into the studio with the mentality of being Normani. People will always remember how you made them feel and what a record did for them.” She added, “My lyrics have more depth, and they’re more intentional and come from a more authentic place, because I now feel more connected to myself than before.”
‘Her album is long overdue and she’s playing’
Social media users flocked to Twitter with an intention to share their valuable opinion on Normani teasing new music. One user trolled the crooner saying, she was, “coming to flop harder than wild side, if that's even possible.” One praised the signer adding, “Sounds like a culture reset.” Whereas, another joke, “I hope Not like WILD SIDE.” One user tweeted, “Honestly don’t want another single from her lol she should just drop her album.”
The next one shared, “Her album is long overdue and she’s playing.” One posted, “She better release a pop song because girls are lacking vocals.” Another added, “I'm tired of these singles tbh. Girl, RELEASE THE ALBUM!! Dayum.” Whereas, one user concluded, “Everybody all of sudden experts in the music industry when it comes to normani.”
