Noah Schnapp canceled for using N-word '16 times' in leaked video, fans claim he was singing 'neighbor'
'Stranger Things' star Noah Schnapp has landed himself in big trouble and as of today, he stands canceled. All this for his love for Lil Dicky and Chris Brown's 2018 song 'Freaky Friday'. Noah was on a road trip with a couple of his friends and just like it is on such trips, the teen star and everyone in the car were having fun and jamming along to music blasting on the stereo.
He looked really happy and hyped up in a video that was leaked on the internet and since then he's been called out for engaging in racist behavior. The lyrics of the song are, "Wonder if I can say the n-word (wait for real?) Wait, can I really say the n-word? What up, my n****? (woo) What up, my n****? Big ups, my n****, we up, my n****, you p***y a** n****, man, f**k y’all n****s, 'Cause I’m that n****, n****, n****, n****, I’m that n****."
The ethnic slur is considered racist if used by anyone but the Black community and the Internet alleges that Schapp while bumping to the song, sang along and allegedly mouthed the word as many times as it features on the song.
After the video surfaced on the Internet, Schapp immediately started to trend on Twitter with users calling for him to be canceled for allegedly engaging in racist behavior. "THIS LIL BOY REALLY SAID THE N-WORD 16 TIMES WITH HIS WHOLE CHEST #noahschnappisoverparty," wrote a user.

"Stranger Things being my favorite show and now I’m probably gonna return my posters and merch and never watch it the same way I did before this is actually rly sad. not trying to be shady but what would ur bestie Caleb think #noahschnappisoverparty," wrote another shaken fan.

However, there is also a huge section of Twitter users who are coming to Noah's defense saying that instead of the slur, they heard him swap it with the word "neighbor" or "nibba". "F**king leave him ALONE HE SAID NEIGHBOR OMG #noahschnappisoverparty," wrote a fan.

"#noahschnappisoverparty alright y’all very unpopular opinion here but whatever f**k it. The word shouldn’t matter in a song. I know y’all know Noah doesn’t hate black people just cause he was f**king w the song. I understand people are hurt by it but there was no racist intention," read another tweet in defense of the young actor.

Schapp has since taken to his Instagram stories to apologize for the video stressing upon the fact that he did indeed swap the word with "neighbor" and acknowledged he was wrong for using the replacement word. "Hi guys, recently a video from last summer has gotten out of me dancing and singing the word 'neighbor' over the n-word. I would truly never say the n-word and I'm not the type of person I genuinely have never used that word in my life, using the word 'neighbor' in that song was just something my camp friends and I did."
He added in the apology, "I hope you all understand I could never even think about doing that, my friends also would never post a video, or support me if I was saying that slur without hesitation. I apologize for using a replacement word. It is not my place to use one and I should have kept my mouth shut I understand why it is found offensive and I am so sorry."
