LINCOLNSHIRE, ENGLAND: In a tragic incident, a mother and her three-year-old son died in a car crash in northeast Lincolnshire. Local authorities confirmed their names as Nicola Courtney, 34, and Lucas Page, 3, from Scunthorpe who were inside their broken-down Ford Focus when a truck smashed into it. The incident is reported to have taken place on the A180 at 9 pm GMT on Friday, March 10.

Humberside Police said that the horrific crash was recorded on the westbound carriageway between Stallingborough and Brocklesby. A spokesperson from the authority had made a ‘voluntary referral’ to the Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC). The referral had been made "after we received calls about the broken-down vehicle prior to the collision", the representative said.
