Nicki Minaj slams Azealia Banks for accusing her of sniffing coke before IG chat: ‘Woulda been rapping about it'
Many observed Nicki Minaj's constant sniffles during her Instagram Live session prompting rumors of drug use
Nicki Minaj made a comeback on social media with an interactive Instagram Live session after a prolonged hiatus. The multiple award-winning artist had announced the extended version of her 2009 mixtape ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’ where hip-hop heavyweight Drake also joined her to talk about their track ‘Seeing Green’ which also features Lil Wayne.
Nicki Minaj, however, was caught on the wrong foot, after many observed her constant sniffles during the Live session prompting rumors of drug use. Azealia Banks, who is known for her controversial remarks, hopped on the bandwagon accusing Minaj of sniffing coke right before her Live session. However, Minaj did not hold back as she soon took to her Instagram and slashed all the ongoing rumors.

‘The Barbz, y’all need to check her’
According to the website HipHop DX, Azealia Banks accused the Grammy-nominated rapper of sniffing cocaine before she came online to interact with her fans. “Girl, if you sniffle one more time on this muthaf**kin’ Live, sis. The Barbz, y’all need to check her on that.” She continued, “No, we have to talk about that sniffling, Nicki. You not low. You not low. Please stop sniffling, sis. That s**t is not even cute no more. Cocaine is not even cocaine no more. Once they locked El Chapo up, b***h, the original formula is gone.” Banks concluded, “Whatever you putting in your nose, please stop putting it in your nose. Baby powder, teething powder, whatever you putting in your nose. Please stop putting it in your nose, Nicki. That is not OK. And them titties look like a butt.”
This is not the first time when Banks has tried to slam Nicki. In May 2020 she attacked the latter for not calling out Doja Cat after allegations emerged that Doja mocked victims of police brutality with her song “Dindu Nuffin” and was involved in racist video chats. According to Vulture, she had said, “Nicki, for all that f**king mouth you have for Cardi B for talking s**t about black women, and now you quiet because you got this little number one with this White b***h. You a p***y a** b***h. Now I’m looking back at it and you was just jealous of Cardi… you was just jealous because she’s got more swag than you.”
‘If I ever did coke at anytime in my life, I woulda been rapping about it’
After Banks accused Nicki Minaj of drug use, the latter did not hesitate to address the allegations as she soon opted for another Instagram Live session. The Instagram page of The Shade Room posted a clip where she can be seen denying all the rumors saying she has never sniffed cocaine in her life. “I don’t know if it’s just me, but I wouldn’t be embarrassed about any fuckin’ drugs I did.” While clearing the air, she continued, “That’s why I talk about the muthaf**kin’ drugs I do in my muthaf**kin’ music. Always have, always f**kin’ will. If I’m off ’em, I’m off ’em, child.” Nicki Minaj added, “But, I want to make this clear so open everybody’s ears, clear them ears out. I have never, ever in my life with my hands on Jesus Christ — and y’all know how I feel about my Lord and savior — never in my life, ever, not even once sniffed coke. Ever.”
In another clip shared by The Shade Room, Nicki confessed of having allergies revealing that she takes allergy medication on a regular basis. “If I ever did coke at anytime in my life, I woulda been rapping about it. That’s just never been my drug of choice. I do take Allegra every day and also I have to take Allegra now, sometimes twice a day. But if I was crying or if I was just blowing my nose, this is me. All day. Runny, sniffly, all the time.” She also said that she had friends who did coke but she never judged them for it. “By the way, I have a lot of friends or acquaintances in the industry that actually do coke. I don’t judge them for it, but I’ve never tried it. Never wanted to. Never asked them to. Especially in the fashion world. That’s so common and normal.”
‘That girl does not do coke’
A lot of social media users stormed Twitter to extend their support to Nick Minaj over her recent controversy. Speaking on the same line, one loyal Barbz said, “I love me some @NICKIMINAJ I wouldn’t have gave a fraction of a fuck even if she did do coke. I’ll forever Infinity be a barb.” Another posted, “I doth like Nicki Minaj but that girl does not do coke lmaoooooooo.” One fan shared, “Lord. Nicki Minaj took a hiatus and when she returns the first story about her is that she’s on coke? Cruel world.”
The next one tweeted, “I still want to know why THE FUCK would @NICKIMINAJ come on a live High on coke when there are millions of people watching and she has her Queen Reputation to uphold Azealia?” One user concluded, “@NICKIMINAJ this era telling y’all to prove it all these false allegations prove it. Nicki never address the lies being said against in her so I’m glad she is addressing the coke situation. We all know it’s bogus. We all know it’s BS. Where is the lady that had a lot to say.”
