Pittsburgh Penguins lost 4-3 to Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, August 5 and much of the blame was on defenseman, Jack Johnson. According to Pittsburgh Hockey Now, the loss means the Penguins have lost eight of its nine Stanley Cup playoff games dating back to 2018, not a stat they would be happy to know about. Fans took to Twitter slamming Johnson and to an extent, coach Mike Sullivan for not making the right calls.

"I am not really hockeying right now but two things: —the jack johnson experiment should never have started and desperately needs to end yesterday —bc this round's points count as playoff stats, this counts as the playoffs & the streak remains alive, so give me Lafreniere," one of the fans opined soon after the game.

And this was just one of those remarks in what could be termed as an avalanche of hate tweets. "Jack Johnson is single-handedly sinking all the work this Penguins team is doing. It's like the Penguins are a hose trying to fill a bucket and he's the hole at the bottom. I don't know if I love or hate to see it," one of the tweets read.

Although the Penguins dominated the scoreboard, it all came down to the Canadiens final three goals handing them a 4-3 win and also a comprehensive 2-1 lead in the best of five qualification set. It was a scoreline they didn't see coming and much of the frustration was due to Johnson's poor defense that allowed Canadiens to take lead. "Jack Johnson is the reason why shit goes wrong. All Penguins fans do is call it out,"  an exasperated fan commented on Twitter.

At this stage, much of the blame was also handed to coach Sullivan for not making the right changes. "Sullivan has opened himself up to a lot of criticism at this point. He is playing favorites just like Bylsma. Why is Jack Johnson still getting a sweater? Why is Schultz the extra attacker? Why not Zucker, or Rust, or heck even Sheary?" a fan questioned.

The question on everyone's minds come will be if Johnson would be sitting in the sidelines when the two teams clash again on Friday, August 7. The game is crucial for Penguins as they will look the scorecard in the evening.
