Shocking details were released in the case of a man facing child pornography charges after he was accused of shooting two girls in September 2016. Kody Austin Lott, 21, is still being held at the Wichita County Jail due to the over $1 million bond over charges of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession of child pornography. The bail was set at $10,000 for each of the three child porn charges.

The arrest warrant affidavits stated that Lott confessed in an interview with detectives to killing Lauren Landavazo and Makayla Smith. Investigators seized a cell phone from the young man's possession when he was arrested for the murders.

According to the Times New Record, the arrest warrant also states that authorities found and seized one more cell phone while they were executing a search warrant on the car that Lott was driving at the time. Both phones were sent to an FBI laboratory to be accessed by technicians.

The technicians at the lab were able to find a multitude of pornographic images on one of the seized cell phones. These included a few pictures that appeared to show girls younger than 18 taking part in sexually explicit acts. The detectives brought in a local pediatrician to look through the images so that they could get a possible age for the girls. Based on his level of experience, the pediatrician was able to advise the detectives that the girls in the images were under the age of 18.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children also confirmed that one of the three images on the cell phone was already identified before as a known image of child porn. The detectives then conducted a separate criminal investigation in which they contacted and briefed a special agent on the issue. The special agent then confirmed that the image is of child pornography and the girl depicted in it was about eight-years-old at the time the picture was taken.

Lott has also been accused of shooting two girls walking back home from middle school. Landavazo was killed at the scene and Smith was wounded from the attack. The crazed killer told detectives after he was arrested that he shot at the two girls because he had been frustrated that he was single. The arrest warrant affidavit also stated that Lott was upset because Landavazo had a boyfriend. He is also reported to have told detectives that he planned out the killing with Satan. Landavazo had been shot 14 times.

In March, the killer was found unfit to stand trial and transferred to the maximum-security unit of a mental hospital to undergo treatment. Bob Brotherton, the State District Judge, then transferred the case to Tarrant County in August this year.
