'New Amsterdam' Season 3 Episode 7: Will Dr Kapoor return soon? Doctors have a 'sweet' surprise for him
Dr Kapoor (Anupam Kher) on 'New Amsterdam' has quite a fondness for ladoos, an Indian sweet that even makes an appearance in his near-death experience. So it is quite fitting that the doctors at 'New Amsterdam', from these pictures on the NBC website, seem to be organizing what seems to be a rather sweet gesture for Dr Kapoor.
Considering Dr Kapoor has just recovered from massive Covid-19 related heart damage, we're doubtful that he'll be able to eat the ladoos. But that doesn't seem to be stopping the rest of the doctors from eating, drinking and being merry, as we can see in the pictures.

But while it's obviously spelled out that Kapoor is the guest of honor in ladoos no less, the big question is whether this is a welcome back or a farewell party. Anupam Kher, who plays Dr Vijay Kapoor, has been grappling with a health challenge in his own life, with his wife Kirron Kher recently diagnosed with blood cancer. Kirron Kher is currently receiving treatment in India, which poses several questions on how Kher will continue to do the show. Will Kapoor's character be shown in upcoming episodes as consulting online, or is this a farewell party for the doctor who deserves a break and perhaps is choosing to focus on his new grandchild?
We also don't see Kapoor in any of the party pictures, which leaves us to assume that Dr Kapoor will be shown joining the party online. We're just hoping against hope though that isn't some kind of a final sendoff that the doctors have organized to celebrate Kapoor's life. Even if it is a farewell party we hope it's just farewell for now and not farewell forever.
One thing is for sure though, this effort by the 'DamFam' will not just cheer up Dr Vijay Kapoor on the show, but also the actor who portrays him.
