In the last episode of 'New Amsterdam' we saw that normally angst-ridden Dr Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) was finally in a happy place and quite possibly a happily ever after place as she found love with Leyla (Shiva Kalaiselvan), after what seemed to initially be a rocky start.

But can things ever go smoothly for Dr Lauren Bloom? It seems that for the writers of 'New Amsterdam', the answer to that is no. The synopsis of the upcoming episode reads, "A burst pipe plunges the ED into chaos. Iggy counsels two stressed out parents about their child. Gwen and Calvin have some devastating news for Max." While we thought that  Dr Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) potentially losing his vision, could be the only bad news on the episode, fans are also worried about Dr Lauren's fate after seeing the roof of the ED cave in on her in the trailer of the latest episode.

A fan on YouTube said, "BLOOM JUST GOT A STABLE RELATIONSHIP AND THIS IS HOW THEY DO MY GIRL 😭😭😭". Another fan echoed the sentiment on Youtubesaying, "i hope lauren doesn’t get hurt she just found happiness😕"

Another fan tweeted, "Keep your hands off bloom and shinwari or else."

Majority of fans' attention is on the Sharpwin romance and whether the latest disaster will get Dr Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) and Dr Max Goodwin to finally confess their feelings for each other. However, it's clear that the Lauren-Leyla relationship has also got fans rooting for them with almost as much enthusiasm. One fan tweeted, "Max and Helen have great chemistry and something dramatic is a good way to bring them together but an accident that can cause vision loss too horrifying. I also want Dr. Bloom to be okay. I want a happy ending for all three!"

To find out if Dr Lauren comes out of the latest disaster unscathed and able to carry on her relationship with Leyla, you can catch new episodes of 'New Amsterdam' on Tuesdays 10/9c on NBC.
