'New Amsterdam' Season 2 Episode 10: Fans hope Dr Zach Ligon is back for more romance with Bloom when the NBC show returns

Season 2 has focused primarily on Bloom's recovery after the accident and the struggles of managing pain when you are trying to stay sober. Thankfully, she has someone who knows exactly what she is going through, but that person also happens to be someone who annoys her to no end.

The wait for the return of 'New Amsterdam' seems too long already and we still have over a month to go. What keeps us optimistic and eager for the return of the NBC show, however, is the return of some of our favorite characters, including the annoying Dr. Zach Ligon (JJ Feild), who we know is the only person who can get under Bloom's (Janet Montgomery) skin the way he has. When Season 2 Episode 10 of 'New Amsterdam' airs on NBC, we definitely hope he becomes a regular on the show and a staple in Bloom's life.

In the one and a half seasons that we have known Bloom, we have seen her truly suffer. She was heartbroken when Reynolds (Jocko Sims) said that he does not see a future where he is dating Bloom because she is white, and after this, we saw her struggling with addiction and nearly lose her job that she loves so much. Post this we also saw her get into a very serious accident that left her with long-lasting scars, and these scars lead her to Ligon.

Season 2 has focused primarily on Bloom's recovery after the accident and the struggles of managing pain when you are trying to stay sober. Thankfully, she has someone who knows exactly what she is going through, but that person also happens to be someone that annoys her to no end. Bloom and Ligon definitely do have incredible sexual chemistry, but do they have what it takes to explore a romantic relationship? Hopefully, we will get to find out when Season 2 returns with Episode 10 in 2020.

Since the beginning of the show, we have shipped Bloom and Reynolds, and now that Reynolds' relationship with Evie (Margot Bingham) is turning increasingly sour and possibly heading towards a breakup, we had imagined it would be time for Bloom and Reynolds to get together. However, that would clearly have to wait, because fans definitely want Ligon and Bloom's relationship to be explored first.

The mid-season premiere of 'New Amsterdam' Season 2, which premieres on Tuesday, January 14, will see how Reynolds-Bloom-Ligon dynamic will pan out in the long run and we are excited.
