Ryan Eggold strikes the perfect note between kind and crazy (we mean that in a good way) as hospital director Max Goodwin on 'New Amsterdam'. The actor strikes the right chords not just with his acting chops but also with his musical talent. As if Eggold's soulful eyes weren't enough of a sex appeal, he's also a rather accomplished musician and his voice has certainly gained him a whole new legion of fans.

Eggold is not just great with vocals, but is also proficient on the guitar and ukulele — skills which he puts to good use in his band Eleanor Avenue. He's also shown off his skills on the guitar in 'Lucky Them' in which he stars with Toni Collette. As if singing and playing two musical instruments weren't enough, Ryan has also written the lyrics for the original song 'Here's Looking at You' which he performed on the 'Today' show.

With so much musical talent, it's not surprising that people are always curious what song Eggold would play if he wanted to serenade someone using his mad guitar skills. In an interview with 'People', Eggold replied that his go-to serenade song is 'Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely' by the Backstreet Boys. Well, we don't know about you, but we certainly didn't see that one coming. Another artiste who has inspired Eggold's music career is Tom Petty.

Ryan also seems to encourage fellow musicians such as jazz singer Sarah Dobson and uses his star power to help get recognition for genres of music that are perhaps more niche.

Of late, Eggold seems to be in a patriotic frame of mind. Here's his rendition of 'America the Beautiful' and it seems that Eggold is not afraid to show that he makes musical mistakes.
