Will ‘Ozark’ Season 3 bring back Rachel and her budding relationship with Marty?

Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) may be the reason his family is caught up in the dangerous world of drugs and gambling, but even his atrocity in the chase to save his loved ones couldn’t overpower Wendy Byrde’s (Laura Linney) crookedness. 

All along the two seasons of ‘Ozark’, Wendy put her life on the line to protect her family. Her marriage to Marty has been hanging by a thread for a long time, but what would happen if she came to learn about someone who tried destroying everything she has worked towards, although unintentionally? 

The latest offering of ‘Ozark’ is only a day away from dropping on Netflix and numerous theories regarding the trouble that’s to ensue in Marty and Wendy’s relationship are making rounds on the internet. 

The official trailer also sees the couple seated before a counselor as they vent out issues from respective ends owing to their parched marriage. On seeing this, fans are predicting a bigger threat to their marriage, if Rachel Garrison (Jordana Spiro) returns in Season 3. 

One fan noted, “I think Rachel will return and we’ll be seeing a rift between Marty and Wendy—not just because of the incident with Marty and Rachel, but more so with how Wendy is now breaking bad and Marty is now having issues compartmentalizing. Even in S2E10, we see Marty looking at Wendy as if he is looking at a stranger when he realizes that Wendy has ordered the hit on Cade. Plus Wendy was starting to inquire Wilkes about the offer he made her leave Marty in there as well.”

Meanwhile, the rest are trying to wrap their heads around what awaits Rachel if she happens to return and Wendy knows about her tryst with Marty. 

“I agree. Something to keep in mind is anyone who crossed or crosses Wendy in any way will be in danger going forward. Wendy knowing Rachel stole 300 Grand from the cartel and showing interest in her husband could be fatal. While Marty telling Rachel the cartel didn't know about her made viewers feel she was safe in S2, all Wendy has to do in S3 is tell Helen or Omar Navarro about her and she is gone,” added another. 

However, it’s a given that chaos is going to unfold in Marty’s marriage, but it remains to be seen if Rachel will be the reason for the Byrdes to fall apart or if Wendy ensures Rachel’s traces vanish into thin air, considering what she did to Cade. 

Season 3 of ‘Ozark’ will be available to stream on March 27 on Netflix.
