'Young, Famous & African' will be the first African reality series to air on Netflix. Set in Johannesburg, South Africa, the seven-part series follows a group of well-known, rich young media people as they chase their aspirations, discover love, and rekindle previous relationships.

According to Netflix's official synopsis, "This glitzy reality series aka a real-life soap opera follows a group of young, affluent, and famous A-list media personalities. Hailing from South Africa, Nigeria, and East Africa, this aspirational who’s who of music, media, fashion, and Insta stars comes together in Joburg. All friends and connected, they are on a quest to find love, rekindle old flames, reboot struggling relationships as they continue to shine bright."

Nadia Nakai

Nadia Nakai Kandava is a Zimbabwean rapper, composer, and television personality, born in South Africa. Her mother is from South Africa, while her father is from Zimbabwe. She went to Monash University in Johannesburg to study Marketing, Communication, and Media Studies. She landed the role of anchoring 'Gen-Z South Africa' on Channel 0 in early 2021. Nakai was nominated for Artist of the Decade at the 2021 South African Hip Hop Awards. She says that hailing from a line of strong, opinionated women, she can't help but be like that.



 

Diamond Platnumz

Diamond Platnumz, whose real name is Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, is a Tanzanian bongo Flava recording artist, dancer, philanthropist, and businessman of Ha heritage. He was born and brought up in Dar es Salaam's Tandale. He founded and runs the WCB Wasafi Record Label, Zoom Extra, Wasafi Bet, and Wasafi Media companies. In East and Central Africa, Diamond has garnered a large following. He became the first musician from Africa to exceed 900 million YouTube views in total.



 

Naked DJ

Quinton Masina, also known as DJ Naked, is a South African radio personality. Quinton is a father and was formerly married to Naledi Willer of the 'Real Housewives of Johannesburg'. He is presently in a relationship with Kayliegh Schwark.



 

2Baba

2Baba is a Nigerian musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, humanitarian, and activist. He used to go by the stage name 2face Idibia until July 2014. He was the first winner of MTV Europe, Best African Act Award in 2015. 2baba released a song in 2019 in collaboration with other well-known artists like Cohbams and Timi Dakolo to raise awareness about children's rights.



 

Annie Macaulay-Idibia

Annie Macaulay-Idibia is a Nigerian actress, model, and presenter. She was nominated at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Annie was born in Ibadan but grew up in Eket, Akwa Ibom State. Following her parents' divorce, she relocated to Lagos with her mother. Her Nollywood career was established after she starred in the films 'Pleasure and Crime' and 'Blackberry Babes'.



 

Kayglieh Schwark

Kayglieh is a footballer and girlfriend of Quinton Mansina. Her Instagram profile gives the impression that she enjoys going to the beach. She just shared a photo of herself on the beach with the caption, "It’s WavVy baby 🌊"



 

Zari Hassan

Zarinah Hassan, also known as Zari Hassan and Zari the Boss Lady, is a Ugandan socialite, artist, and entrepreneur who lives and works in South Africa. She is the owner and CEO of Brooklyn City College (BCC), a varied and innovative educational organization situated in South Africa that she co-founded with her late husband Ivan Ssemwanga. BCC has campuses in Polokwane, Durban, Johannesburg, Nelspruit, Vereeniging, and Rustenburg, as well as a headquarters campus in Pretoria.



 

Andile Ncube

Andile Ncube is a South African television personality and producer who was born on October 4, 1981. He's been in the television industry since 2003 and has established a solid reputation. He attended seven different primary schools in South Africa before settling in Johannesburg. Ncube continued his education at Pretoria Technikon, where he majored in journalism. After that, he went to AFDA to study film and drama.



 

Swankyjerry

Swankyjerry, also known as Jeremiah Ogbodo, is a Nigerian celebrity fashion stylist who has worked with Tonto Dikeh, D'banj, Ice Prince, M.I, Tu Face, Juliet Ibrahim, and Davido. With the debut of his firm Swanky Signatures Styling in June 2012, Swankyjerry began his career as a celebrity fashion stylist. He took home the award of Fashion Stylist of the Year at the Lagos Fashion Awards in 2014.



 

Khanyi Mbau

Khanyisile Mbau (born October 15, 1985), better known by her stage name Khanyi Mbau, is a South African actress, television personality, and musician. Mbau hosted a radio program on Metro FM called 'Whose Show Is It Anyway' with entertainers Somizi Mhlongo and Ntombi Ngcobo in 2016. The show began on July 18, 2016, and ran for a year before being canceled due to a station restructuring. Mbau announced the introduction of her own gin brand, I Am Khanyi - Millennial Shimmer Gin, in November 2018.



 

'Young, Famous & African' premieres on Netflix on March 18.
