Of late, there has been a slew of Netflix series and films set during World War II. The most recent one is a Danish drama set in the aftermath of a school bombing in Copenhagen, based on a true story. The school wasn't even supposed to be a target and there was no warning. So, when the explosives landed on the school, it was packed with students. It caused shockwaves across the city, with citizens trying to help those trapped within. This heartbreaking film depicts only a small glimpse of the suffering that any conflict entails, as well as how quickly things change in war.

This is not a movie for the faint-hearted. 'The Bombardment' is one among a number of World War II films that Netflix has recently bought. Netflix famously bought the Dutch film 'The Forgotten Battle,' starring Tom Felton from Harry Potter, last year. Netflix released its own film 'Munich – The Edge of War' in January 2022, and 'Operation Mincemeat' will be distributed in many regions later this year. But, before we get into the specifics of this special, you might want to see whether you're interested in 'Chosen', 'Doin' My Drugs' and 'Elves'
