If you watched Netflix's 'Indian Matchmaking', then you would have seen matchmaker Sima Taparia expressing how challenging it was for her to find a match for her client Aparna Shewakramani. The 34-year-old attorney was pretty clear about what she wanted and wasn't willing to settle for anything less, and this confidence and determination threw our dear Sima aunty off.

So, when she started sharing profiles of her potential suitors with Aparna, and Aparna didn't click with any of them, Sima aunty had quite an interesting reaction to it. She labeled Aparna as "negative" and "stubborn" for rejecting the matches sent to her. Interestingly, Sima aunty labeled her other client Pradhyuman Maloo, who rejected over 150 girls just based on their biodatas as "indecisive" and "confused".

Hawk-eyed viewers couldn't help but notice how Sima aunty seemed to favor her male clients and make preferential treatment towards them compared to her female clients. In case you were wondering how Aparna might have felt about this preferential treatment, then you don't have to wait too long to know her response to it. On Netflix's 'Indian Matchmaking: Catch Up session', the 34-year old attorney shared her thoughts about it.

When the interviewer Dolly Singh asked Aparna how she felt about Sima's seemingly obvious preferential treatment, Aparna explained how she felt it was " strange". She initially gave Sima the benefit of doubt by explaining how our worldview is shaped by our background and experiences, but eventually called out the matchmaker for her preferential treatment.

Aparna said, "I definitely think that she takes her background and her understanding of the world into the process. That's what we all do every day. To watch her with Pradhyuman and tell him 'oh it's okay that you have seen 150 girls, here are some chocolates am gonna bring you' and then to watch her with me where she said 'you're negative, you're stubborn, and you are all these terrible things', I think that's very strange and very concerning."

The attorney then went on to cite the example of how the Mumbai-based matchmaker let Nadia's suitor Vinay off the hook for standing her up on multiple dates by just saying he's "unsure" about things, but labeled Aparna "stubborn" for knowing what exactly she wanted. Aparna explained, "the minute I'm sure about something I'm stubborn", and added, "It was a little weird to see on camera."

'Indian Matchmaking' is available for streaming on Netflix.
