Netflix drops exciting first footage of Zack Snyder's 'Rebel Moon'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Army of the Dead' director Zack Snyder first announced 'Rebel Moon' back in July of 2021, tweeting out teasers every so often like new cast members and behind-the-scenes images. Fans thought it was about time it gets an official release date. Well, fans have turned out lucky as Netflix has unveiled the first explosive footage from Zack Snyder's 'Rebel Moon' in a new video showcasing the streamer's upcoming 2023 film slate.
Furthermore, the epic space opera movie is from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, based on a story he also created with Johnstad. It also features an ensemble cast, starring Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, Cary Elwes, and Anthony Hopkins. Apparently, the movie is going to be released on Netflix, but it’s also going to get a limited theatrical release. Rumor has it, insiders revealed that a follow-up, 'Rebel Moon Part 2,' is being shot with the film back-to-back.

The sizzle reel shows a first look at the sci-fi adventure film, giving viewers a glimpse at the star-studded cast, crazy action sequences, explosives, and a quick peek-a-boo of 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' actress Sofia Boutella (who plays Kora) and 'Sons of Anarchy' actor Charlie Hunnam (character yet-to-be-named) making out.
The teaser only featured a glimpse of Snyder's upcoming sci-fi epic, but the footage did offer fans their first look at Sofia Boutella's Kora in action as well as Charlie Hunnam's undisclosed character and Djimon Hounsou's General Titus. The official logline for 'Rebel Moon' reads as follows: "When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past named Kora to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand."
'Rebel Moon,' Netflix’s highly anticipated space fantasy epic, is coming to the streamer on December 22, 2023.
