Netflix, Amazon and others to cover travel costs for abortions, Internet says 'it's all for show'
Supreme Court’s decision to overturn a constitutional right to safe abortion has been met with extreme reactions with people, including Hollywood celebrities, slamming the SCOTUS after it overturned Roe v Wade, effectively ending federal protections of abortion rights. As soon as the news surfaced online, a lot of big corporations announced that they will be reimbursing travel expenses for employees seeking an abortion.
Following the disastrous ruling on June 24, major corporations such as Netflix, Paramount, Warner Bros, Amazon, Sony, and Comcast have revealed that they are helping their employees by covering the traveling expenses if they seek the aforementioned medical procedure.

According to a report in Deadline, Disney assured its employees that the Supreme Court ruling won’t change anything and the organization “remains committed to providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care”, which includes family planning and reproductive care. On the other hand, Netflix revealed that the company offers employees and dependents up to $10,000 in travel reimbursement for various medical procedures such as transplants, cancer treatment, gender-affirming care, or abortion through its plan.
Meanwhile, WB has already made it clear that its healthcare benefits will expand and it will now cover employees who’ll go to other states for abortion.
Another organization that announced it will be covering the traveling expenses for its employees is none other than Paramount. The production company seems to have sent a memo to its employees in which the CEO Bob Bakish and Chief People Officer Nancy Phillips said that it will reimburse travel expenses for those who will be traveling to other states for abortion. The memo said, “Reproductive health care through company-sponsored health insurance, including coverage for birth control, elective abortion care, miscarriage care, and certain related travel expenses if the covered health service, such as abortion, is prohibited in your area.”

Hopefully, more companies do the same. Better yet, the USA should enact better laws to protect Women's rights to choose.” Another social media user tweeted, “This is great, we also need to make sure lower SES people who don’t work for such companies have the same access to a safe abortion.”

“It’s crazy that literal mega corporations are showing more commitment to the US’s ideals of freedom than the actual Supreme Court,” wrote another one. “Major corporations need to STOP ALL political donations immediately. Move all the money into employee healthcare,” said another user.

Meanwhile, there were many who believed that companies are just doing this for showing that they care, but they don’t. One of the users wrote, “No matter what your opinion on abortion, I find it ridiculous that suddenly these companies are paying thousands of dollars to cover this, but paying a few extra bucks an hour? Forget it.” Another social media user said, “Boycott those businesses advocating the murder of unborn children! No values, no morales!”

Amazon doesn't let their employees take a piss, i highly doubt they will pay for the expenses for travel and the procedure while they don't work. They will probably pay for it and then fire the employee, cause its easier now that she isn' pregnant anymore. Its all for show!
