This article contains spoilers for Season 17 Episode 12 'Flight Plan'

In tonight’s Episode 12 of 'NCIS' there's a killer on the loose, trying to frame a loyal woman in service for murders she hasn't committed. But before we can dive into all of that, there's a hilarious but nuanced subplot involving agent McGee building up that fans pitying the poor guy whose 'business is out there' for everyone to have a laugh.

Episode 12 'Flight Plan' sees “the NCIS team investigate an F-18 crash and the subsequent disappearance of the pilot who operated the aircraft. Also, McGee reluctantly discusses a very personal decision with his teammates.”

So obviously, it is the latter part of this synopsis that has caught on fans' attention. McGee, as it turns out, is about to get a vasectomy; this comes after he and his wife, Delilah, had a pregnancy scare the previous month and decided they were done having more children. Delilah dumped the responsibility on McGee, saying it was up to him to fix things, and as she comes clean about the emotions he is trying to process to get the procedure done, he shared them with his colleague, agent Nick Torres.

Torres feels bad about it, being the caring friend he is; but not everybody in their headquarters is as kind about receiving the news as Torres. Soon the word gets out, including what day and time McGee's appointment for the procedure is, and as the episode progresses, the information reaches to people like Gibbs and Carol as well. The latter even takes it up with McGee personally, asking him not to go about sharing his medical woes in the workplace, but soon offers him a word of advice from experience. It helps McGee feel a lot more understood with the pressure he was under, but fans still can't stop talking about how sorry they feel for McGee's private life going for a toss amongst his coworkers.

Taking it to Twitter, a fan wrote: "Everyone knows your business now Mcghee," about the scenes where McGee finds out tat even Gibbs, his boss, knows about what the other man is dreading. A lot of them wrote "Poor McGee" and how "Palmer isn't helping him" with all the talk about scalpels and knives that is sure to make McGee shudder for good reason. Then there was also "that painfully awkward conversation with Bishop" that McGee had to put up with which has caught viewers' attention and made them feel sorry for the man further.

A lot of fans however poured in with support though, trying to pacify the character writing how "it's just a little snip snip" and "it's totally reversible, doesn't he know that?" Some even noted that "They're talking about McGee getting vasectomy on NCIS. This is like a character development moment in this episode."

For others, it was mostly about the conversation at the end of the episode, where McGee learns that ven Gibbs knows, and asks him if he's a 'member of the cut club'. Good to know that the entire fandom has come out in solidarity for the dreaded surgery McGee is about to embark on, even though one person kept it straight to the point and wrote: "Get over the BS snip snip McGee.. millions of us men have had it done and it all went just fine. You love your wife? Then what is the problem?"

'NCIS' Season 17 airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm only on CBS.
