'NCIS', 'Bull' crossover could be the only way NCIS fans get that Tony-Ziva chemistry back

Ziva makes a comeback in season 17, but that has also got fans wishing to see Tony and Tila once again because they believe nothing could work better for the series.

After four years of no communication, Ziva (Cote de Pablo) is finally returning to the world of 'NCIS' as revealed by the trailer for the upcoming season 17. She left us all the way back in season 13 when Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is informed of her mysterious death along with the news that the two have a daughter, Tila. Luckily for us, after all this while, Ziva makes a comeback in season 17, but that has also got fans wishing to see Tony and Tila together again because they believe nothing could work better for the series. However, the chances of seeing Weatherly back in the role of Tony are remote as he's the main character in the hit show 'Bull', and whether fans will accept a new actor in this ionic role remains to be seen.

Ever since the trailer for the 17th season dropped, fans did what they do best and took to social media to express their reactions. Sure, there was a lot of buzz about Ziva's return, but even more so about the prospect of Tony and Tila coming back. One such fan @donutsdebsdibs posted on Twitter: "#CotedePablo said there's a very emotional scene of #ZivaDavid in the bull pen with lots of memories. Wouldn't it be great if they showed her remembering Tony like he did her in Family first? #NCIS"

Another fan, made a very interesting observation about wanting to see how Ziva also kicks-ass as a family woman now, should Tony and Tila to return. If not a family, at least watching their relationship progress from the point where Tony has been raising their daughter for all these years, while Ziva has been in hiding to protect them, would be both touching and interesting in equal parts. Speaking about the same, @Kara63320244 wrote on Twitter: "I think that they should bring back the actor who plays Tony as well because I kind of want to see how their relationship ends up after we found out he has a daughter."

But of course someone has to spill the tea with plenty of sass and Twitter user @AlwaysJisbon spoke for all of us in unison, when they tweeted about NCIS saying: "cote de pablo coming back as ziva is the only reason why ncis is relevant again. without ziva and tony, it’s a giant ass dumpster fire and that’s the piping hot steaming tea."

'NCIS' returns with season 17 on Tuesday, September 24, at 8 p.m. only on CBS.
