Spoilers for Season 7 Episode 2: 'Something in the Air' Part 2

'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 7 two-part premiere saw agents Tammy Gregorio and Quentin Carter spend most of their time together, as they try to dig into the mystery of a naval officer's death on a ship. Packed with passengers and crew who have all been exposed to the Coronavirus, Carter and Gregoria can neither dock the ship nor let these passengers go as one of them could easily be the murder. Together they fight a hostile crew, a raging fire explosion, and ultimately, a rebel passenger who sneaks out of the locked-up chamber full of exposed people to take control of the ship. The two agents are seasoned enough to tackle all of that and figure out the murder mystery before they can finally come home safe and quarantine in peace. But their story is far from over clearly.

After their boss, Dwayne Pride was finally able to figure out the murderer on board the ship, Gregorio and Carter made their arrest and had to immediately scoot over to safe quarantining. Gregorio being her colleague Sebastian's roommate for a considerable period of time, the man felt somewhat jealous watching her logging up with Carter. This proved a new budding relationship between the two - kind of the one that Carter seemed to spark with agent Hannah Khoury towards the sudden end of Season 6.

Their recently changed dynamics, having braved that ship misadventure together saw Gregorio and Carter stuck in quarantine for two weeks, awaiting their Covid-19 test results before they could resume work and return to their team at the headquartrs. The two agents utilized this time to engage in each other, and develop quite the bond over card games and Gregorio losing money to Carter. But for all those wondering if this will surmount to a beyond platonic relationship, the answer is no.

Regardless of their chemistry, let's not forget that not that long ago, in Season 6 itself, Gregorio had come out as gay in the episode 'Slay the Dragon'. She had been married to a man in the past, but was soon able to discover her sexuality -  a truth she still hasn't been able to open up to her mother about, yet. Gregorio did also date a woman in Season 6 and for now, without assuming too much, one can't quite pin the bisexual label on her sexuality. So the chances of her and Carter becoming something more than friends, are slim to none. The only reason Sebastian should feel jealous over this is Gregorio getting herself a new best friend.

'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 7 airs on Sundays at 10 pm only on CBS.
