'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 6: Agent Pride's insane hallucinations have 'scared the bejesus' out of fans

It is the very end of the episode that has our interests piqued. It turns out Pride is having hallucinations and they are much too realistic to be overlooked.

'NCIS: New Orleans' just debuted its season six and we still confused whether all of that was just a dream! When the same question was posed on social media, fans gathered to express what they thought of the premiere.

The responses indicate a majorly impressed fanbase that's now even more excited about what's coming next on the show.

After going rogue several times in the past, Special Agent Pride has finally managed to find accommodation in the season six premiere of 'NCIS: New Orleans'. However, all of this comes as a shock to him when he is acknowledged for his accomplishments and later gets to see both Rita and his mother.

The reunion, touching as it is, is cut short by Pride's team needing him back home. Due to a slight defiance in protocol from Agent Harper Khoury, Pride has to take care of the matter immediately, which results in Khoury getting suspended all because she wanted to help unarmed women during a bomb threat.

After running back and forth to connect the dots about the bomb's location, Pride and his team are finally able to track down the person behind it all: late Marine Lance Corporal Angela Gaines' father, former Army Green Beret Holden Gaines.

Holden, a conspiracy theorist following what he believed was his daughter's murder, is soon able to see the light and turns himself in eventually towards the end of the episode.

However, not everyone is happy, as Khoury had decided to dismiss her suspension and tag along with Pride on this mission anyway, which results in both her and Pride getting demoted.

Yet, it is the very end of the episode that has our interests piqued. It turns out Pride is having hallucinations and they are much too realistic to be overlooked.

Taking the discussion to Twitter, one user wrote: "Oh, gosh, no! When Pride started having those hallucinations, I almost had a heart attack. Let's not do that again. No more scary, endless crap, please. An occasional dream is fine, but NOT the debilitating kind."

Following suit, another wrote: "Good twist there and I’m assuming that these dreams are for telling of what’s coming. Like predicting the future." A more shocked fan tweeted, "That dream sequence broke my heart and then scared the bejesus out of me!! My heart was pounding for several minutes!"

Other fans commented on the beauty of the sequence, writing: "Beautiful last sequence — So poignant & beautifully portrayed! What a great premiere ep! Loved it; love #NCISNOLA; love this entire cast!"

But of course, there were critics who felt compelled to trash the premiere. One wrote: "I can tell you it was very badly written. The first paragraph of the night turned me off. Stop with the made-up racist division stuff. Done with Hollyweird always preaching hate. The show needs better writers."

Another chimed in saying: "Dream or not. It was horrible who is writing this mess. Go back to the original script Hire a hunk of fine manliness or black women. They should also be military-connected."

'NCIS: New Orleans' season six premiered on September 24 at 10 pm only on CBS.
