'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 12 Episode 9: Did Anna lie to Callen or has she also met Kam Hanna's fate?

All we can hope now is Anna is in danger and not just bailing on Callen, we'd like her a lot more if she was just forced to lie to him

Spoilers for Season 12 Episode 9 'A Fait Accompli'

Grisha Callen (Chris O'Donnell) is a man's man now. With a sneak peek into his past where he left his long term girlfriend to find out more about himself and his father, one would have never seen him actually following through with his plans of proposing to his current girlfriend Anna Kolceck (Bar Paly), but here we are and so is Callen. Character development through and through. But all of that progress doesn't come in handy when right at the end of the episode it is revealed that Anna had been quite possibly lying to him all this while. Either that or that she met the same fate as Agent Sam Hannah's daughter Kam does at the end of the same episode.

Although Anna had been staying in touch with Callen, so there was no word of alarm yet, one can't help but completely shrug off the idea of her being in danger when Callen shows up at the hotel she and her team were supposed to put up at and the receptionist tells him nobody's been there's on a humanitarian mission for weeks. Callen is there with a ring box in his hand and he hears his girlfriend, whom he was about to propose to, has been lying to him about being away from him this whole time. Why did Anna lie? Did she too get the same cold feet Callen did after a chat with Arkady Kolceck? Arkady could have gotten to Anna and put her off the idea of marriage just the way he had gotten to Callen. Is that why Anna paid off the hotelier and ran before Callen could get there?

Or was it something worse - what if she got kidnapped? The end of the episode sees Sam speaking to his daughter Kam on the phone and soon as they bid their goodbyes, a masked person grabs Kam from behind and kidnaps her. Did Anna too meet the same fate? Is someone purposely targetting the loved ones of the NCIS: LA team? Comes as a giant shocker especially when there's so much to celebrate with Martin Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) finally being an NCIS agent after almost getting kicked out of the academy. All we can hope now is Anna is in danger and not just bailing on Callen. We'd like her a lot more if she was just forced to lie to him.

'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 12 will air on Sundays at 9 pm from February 14, only on CBS.
