History of National Paranormal Day

National Paranormal Day has an unknown origin, similar to many paranormal activities. It was established in 2013, but beyond that, the truth remains a mystery. The universe is filled with oddities and unknown phenomena that science cannot explain. Such incidents are called paranormal occurrences. From vampires and ghosts to Bigfoot, there are a number of encounters with the paranormal reported worldwide.

Even something as insignificant as deja vu can be considered paranormal, and people have been speaking about such experiences for centuries. However, documentation of these inexplicable phenomena began only a few hundred years ago. American writer Charles Fort is best known for collecting paranormal anecdotes and is often regarded as the father of modern paranormal literature. He amassed approximately 40,000 notes on paranormal experiences, contributing greatly to the documentation and understanding of such occurrences.

3 Common myths about the paranormal

1. Despite the belief that ghosts only appear during the night, paranormal experiences have been reported during the day as well.

2. Contrary to common skepticism, physical traces of Bigfoot, such as hair and blood have been discovered, indicating the creature's existence.

3. While abandoned old buildings and mansions are popular sites for paranormal activity, haunted locations also include prisons, hospitals, museums, roads and forests, among others.

3 instruments to communicate with ghosts

1. Ouija board

The Ouija board, also called a spirit board or talking board, is a flat surface marked with the letters of the Latin alphabet, numbers 0-9, the words 'yes', 'no', 'hello', 'goodbye', and various symbols. In a seance, participants place their fingers on a planchette, typically a heart-shaped wooden or plastic pointer, which moves around the board to spell out messages from spirits. For centuries, the Ouija board has been widely used for communicating with the deceased and it continues to captivate and intrigue people to this day.

2. The Charlie Charlie game

The Charlie Charlie game is a popular divination game that has gained widespread attention, particularly among teenagers. It involves the use of a pencil balanced on another pencil placed on a sheet of paper with the words 'yes' and 'no' written on it. The pencil is believed to move and point toward the answer to a yes-no question, serving as a form of fortune-telling. While the mechanism is not considered to have any actual power, it has become a viral sensation and given rise to a modern version of a traditional Spanish game known as Juego de la Lapicera.

3. Kokkuri-san

Kokkuri-san is a popular Japanese Ouija board game that involves summoning animal spirits to answer players' questions. The name Kokkuri-san is derived from the words for the three spirits that are called upon during the game: kitsune (fox), dog (ku), and tanuki (ri). To play Kokkuri-san, you will need a few essential items: a pen, a piece of paper, a coin and a table to gather around. This game has gained significant popularity among Japanese and American people and has become a favorite pastime for many.
