Nathan Williams: 'Bride killer' Jamie Komoroski hires lawyer who put Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof on death row
FOLLY BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA: Jamie Lee Komoroski, the 25-year-old alleged drunk driver who mowed down and killed a just married bride has hired two famous lawyers to her defense. One of the lawyers is former New Jersey county prosecutor Christopher J Gramiccioni, and the other is Nathan S Williams, a former federal prosecutor who was responsible for putting South Carolina church shooter Dylann Roof on death row.
Komoroski allegedly drove into a golf cart carrying Samantha Miller, 34, and Aric Hutchinson, 36 on April 28. The couple was being driven from their wedding. While the crash seriously injured Hutchinson, Miller died at the scene. Komoroski has been charged with three counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily harm or death and one count of reckless homicide.

"We cannot fathom what the families are going through and offer our deepest sympathies," Williams and Gramiccioni said, according to Daily Mail. "We simply ask that there not be a rush to judgment. Our court system is founded upon principles of justice and mercy and that is where all facts will come to light."
Who is Nathan S Williams?
Williams became famous in 2015 after he prosecuted Roof, who was accused of killing as many as nine parishioners during a bible study session at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. The attack was said to be racially motivated. In 2017, the prosecution secured a guilty verdict and death sentence for him.
Williams also prosecuted banker Chris Latham and his mistress Wendy Moore in 2014. Moore had allegedly conspired to have Latham's wife killed. While Latham was sentenced to ten years in prison, Moore was sentenced to 15.
Legal Newswire says that Williams prosecuted Dorothy Barnett back in 2015 for abducting her 10-month-old daughter. He also secured the death penalty for Brandon Council, who was accused of killing two bank employees during a bank robbery in Conway, South Carolina.
According to The Law Offices of Nathan S Williams, "Nathan’s first experience as a prosecutor was as a volunteer law clerk. While waiting on bar exam results, he handled a misdemeanor docket during the day and worked at a shoe store at night and on weekends to pay the bills. By the time Nathan passed the bar exam and received his license to practice law, he had tried nearly a dozen cases. He spent the next ten years as a state prosecutor, working his way up from misdemeanors to over twenty murder cases, trying over eighty jury trials along the way."
"Nathan was hired as a federal prosecutor by the United States Attorney’s office in the District of South Carolina. In his first year as a federal prosecutor, he tried five cases to a jury, including a six-co-defendant conspiracy and animal abuse case, the website says, adding, "In 2010, Nathan was named the supervisor of the Charleston branch of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Criminal Chief for the entire state of South Carolina in 2019."
Williams was the Criminal Chief at the United States Attorney’s Office in South Carolina from 2019 to 2022. "He supervised over 30 criminal prosecutors and oversaw every federal case in the district," says the website.
Who is Christopher J Gramiccioni?
Asbury Park Press says Gramiccioni served as the top prosecutor in Monmouth County, New Jersey, for nine years. In 2021, a started a private firm with his wife. He was famously involved in the prosecution of Liam McAtasney, who fatally strangled Sarah Stern, his 19-year-old childhood friend.
Hutchinson and one of his friends are now reportedly recovering in a hospital. Miller's family is planning a funeral. "If she's cremated, we're going to bring her to Folly Beach," said her mother, Lisa. "That's where she wants to be."
