Kurt Busch's wife Ashley files for divorce, says NASCAR star has 'cut her off financially'
NASCAR star Kurt Busch and his wife Ashley Busch are parting ways after the latter claimed that Kurt 'committed a tortious act'. Ashley, 30, a professional polo player, has filed for divorce from her 43-year-old husband citing that their marriage has 'irretrievably broken'. She also revealed that her husband has cut her off financially and that she had signed a prenup.
On the other hand, Busch released an 'emotional' statement where he said he was 'heartbroken' and wished to resolve their personal matter in private. "I am heartbroken to confirm that my wife Ashley and I are working to dissolve our marriage. Divorce is a personal and private matter and I hope our privacy will be respected," the NASCAR star wrote.

Ashley reportedly filed the bombshell documents on Monday, May 9, in Florida. In her statement, she claimed that by blocking her access to their joint bank accounts and credit cards, Kurt has cut her off financially, Daily Mail reported. Ashley also said that Kurt, the 2017 Daytona 500 winner, demanded she leave their family home before the first week of June. The couple has been married for almost six years after they met in 2015. They got hitched in December 2016 but have no children.
Ashley is a polo player from Virginia and was one of the global brand ambassadors for the US Polo Association in 2017. In 2018, in Berkshire, England, Ashley played with Prince Harry and won the trophy. Ashley and Kurt appeared on the reality TV show 'Racing Wives' in 2019 and since then they have made multiple appearances on each other's Instagram pages.
However, a few months ago, both Kurt and Ashley shared sweet messages on Instagram. On February 8, Ashley shared a post captioned, "Five years ago we were married on this special island, St Barths you have our hearts." On the occasion of Women's Day, Kurt posted saying, "Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all women today and a special shout out to the two most important women in my life."
Previously, Busch was married to Eva Bryan. They got married in 2006 and split after five years in 2011. In 2014 he was investigated for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll, who broke down in court as she asked for a protective order against him. Driscoll claimed that Busch 'snapped' and attacked her after yelling some insults. She told in court, "It scared me because he just snapped." Busch denied her claims and said she was trying to exact revenge against him after he ended their relationship.
