Spoilers ahead for Episode 3 'The Curse of the Dark Storm' of 'Nancy Drew'

Episode three, 'The Curse of the Dark Storm', of 'Nancy Drew' was the most appreciated one yet. Set against the backdrop of an approaching storm, the episode fuses its mystery with the supernatural aspect of the show fluidly.

George (Leah Lewis) has been having a hard time since she found out the water in the bucket turned to blood, which according to the superstition slates her to die within the year.

Deeming herself cursed, she spends the rest of the episode dodging the sudden accidents that could potentially kill her. In fact, by the end of the episode, she realizes that she has had a brush with the supernatural in the form of Rita (a guest appearance by Zibby Allen).

The storm destroys Bess' (Maddison Jaizani) trailer, something that she discovers when she is in the car with Ace (Alex Saxon). But she doesn't react in front of him. The group had been under the impression that Bess is a rich city girl who lives in Horseshoe Bay with her aunt in her mansion.

What they don't know yet is that Bess has been living in the trailer. When this was revealed to the audience, it was also revealed that she had stolen Tiffany Hudson's (Sinead Curry) ring.

In episode five, while she doesn't tell anything to Ace, she makes it clear that something has gone wrong. Ace figures it out himself and at the end of the episode, looks to Nancy (Kennedy McMann) for help.

They go to Bess' trailer to talk to her, but Ace doesn't come in, he says he doesn't want to embarrass her. Nancy talks to Bess and asks her if things are alright with her aunt.

Bess brushes the query away. Nancy invites her to live in her home till the time she figures out a better accommodation situation. When Bess begins to pack her bag though, Tiffany's ring falls off on the floor.

Nancy sees it and picks it up hiding it from Bess — and wonders if she invited a killer for a sleepover. It is highly unlikely that Bess would be the killer though.

Three episodes in, it hardly looks like Bess can go through with killing someone. In all likelihood, she just happened to flick the ring off Tiffany.

We need to wait until the next episode to know more about her backstory. 'Nancy Drew' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm ET/ PT.
