‘My arms are full of bites’: Grandma and boy, 12, ‘traumatized’ after being mauled by bull terrier during stroll in park
CORNWALL, UK: A British Bull Terrier mauled an old lady and her grandson at the St Ives Holiday Park in Cornwall on Wednesday, February 15. Cheryl May and her 12-year-old grandson, Zac, were out for a stroll when they were attacked by the dog at around 9.10 pm last week.
Cheryl claimed that she and her family were out enjoying a night at the holiday park when they were both attacked. The grandma says that she was left with major injuries after being bitten by the dog and that they have both been "traumatized" by the incident.

'This dog went straight for Zac'
The dog first attacked Zac, before turning on Cheryl after it was pulled off him by her daughter, Natalie, as per CornwallLive. She said, "We thought we'd go out and play the bingo. It was a lovely evening and then after that, we left. We went outside the door and we were on the path going down. My grandson had picked me a stick that day because I've got arthritis in my knee and I'm waiting for an operation which has been canceled. All of a sudden we looked up and this dog came towards us and he went straight for Zac."
Natalie reportedly jumped in to help and managed to fight off the animal, according to Cheryl. Cheryl then claims that the dog started attacking her next. "I ran down to Natalie and she was throwing this dog off and had her body over Zac and she's only 4ft 10 so where she got that strength from I don't know. I hit the dog with a stick and I pushed the dog and I went onto the dog and I managed to get him and I said 'run Nat, run, run, run' and she ran up to the clubhouse. I was on the floor and it was on my arm and wouldn't let go."
Cheryl went on, "Two ladies were there and they were lovely and were trying to help me. The people who own the dog stood over me with a young boy and whether he made a command to get the dog off... he must have done." The grandma later stated that the dog's owners, who she alleges was filming her, followed her inside the park's clubhouse after the incident. She said, "After that, the man and woman followed us into the clubhouse and my daughter noticed he was filming. I swore and shouted at him to get out. People there got him out and locked the door."
'In shock for three days'
"I've been in shock for three days and shaking and crying. It was awful, it was like a horror film. I can't sleep. I've been at the hospital to have a bandage done and I've got to go to the fracture clinic. I've got a massive bruise on my chest. My arms are full of bites, I've got antibiotics to take."
Cheryl added that the 12-year-old sustained injuries to his side and his arm is "bandaged up" due to the bites. Both Cheryl and Zac are receiving treatment after going to the hospital. However, she is more worried about the mental health of her daughter and grandson. Police are now investigating the incident.
