'Murdaugh Murders': Where is Buster Murdaugh now? Alex Murdaugh's older son was kicked out of law school for plagiarism
HAMPTON COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA: It has been more than two years since Alex Murdaugh has been accused of killing his wife Maggie, and son Paul. In June 2021, Alex called 911 and told them that he found the dead bodies of his wife and son at the family’s hunting lodge in Moselle. Since then, there have been a lot of debates about the deaths and a lot of people believe that it was Alex who killed them because Maggie and Paul were becoming collateral damage. Netflix is set to tell the story of the murders in the documentary titled ‘Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal’.
The three-part docuseries sheds a light on all the important things that happened during the case and how Mallory Beach’s tragic death brought the entire Murdaugh Empire down. The documentary primarily focuses on Alex Murdaugh and his son Paul, but what about his other son? Even though the documentary discusses briefly Buster Murdaugh, here’s what he has been doing since the death of his mother and brother.

Where is Buster Murdaugh now?
Buster Murdaugh was always the favorite child of the family and received a lot of love and care from Alex and Maggie. Buster, whose real name is Richard Alexander Murdaugh Jr., always had a keen interest in what his father was doing and wanted to become a lawyer like his father. Buster went to Wofford for obtaining his degree and then went on to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law from 2018-19. After that, he started working for his father’s firm.
However, the documentary indicates that his time at the law school was cut short when he was expelled because of “plagiarism” allegations.
As far as Buster is concerned, he now lives in a one-bedroom house in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, with his girlfriend Brooklynn White. According to Fox News, White attended the same law school as Buster and they got to know each other in that institution. The media outlet also reported that she is currently working at Olivetti McCray & Withrow, specializing in probate and estate planning.
The couple lives in that condominium with their golden retriever named Miller.
As far as the trial is concerned, Buster just made a court appearance for his father Alex Murdaugh, and was fighting tears while testifying for his father. “He was heartbroken. I walked in the door and saw him, giving him a hug. He was destroyed,” Buster said during the trial.
Is Buster in trouble as well?
Buster might get into trouble as the police might open an investigation in the mysterious 2015 hit-and-run case that killed Stephen Smith, an openly gay classmate. The young man was found dead in the middle of the road in Hampton County and it was noted that he experienced blunt force trauma.
No suspects were charged even though a lot of people believed that the Murdaugh family and Buster were involved in it.
