'Catfish': Zay was catfished by former bedmate Makeda who claimed to be her online lover Jayda

Makeda showed no remorse when her cover was blown and she claimed to have catfished her only to push Zay in the right direction by encouraging her to leave her wife Eris who she wasn't happy being married to.

Tonight's episode of 'Catfish' was as crazy as it comes. A woman named Zay enlisted the help of hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford to help determine that the woman, Jayda, she'd been talking to for five months in quarantine was indeed the one who she claimed to be.

Zay only had a couple of photos of this woman she was talking to and even though they had never spoken on the phone or video called each other, things between them had turned flirtatious and Zay had started to develop feelings for her. It was important for her now to discover if it was really Jayda that she had been talking to because she was ready to leave her wife of a couple of years, Eris, on Jayda's insistence. However, later it was discovered that the girl she was speaking with was someone in her circle and not really the girl in the photos that Zay had.

So during the investigation, Nev and Kamie discovered that Jayda was married, not interested in girls and didn't even have an Instagram account. Zay was contacted by this person claiming to be Jayda on Instagram. So the doubt then shifted to Zay's wife Eris and she immediately became the 'Catfish' suspect.

There were a lot of messages that Zay received from the person she was talking to online, encouraging her to leave her wife. Zay and Eris were not exactly in a happy marriage and the former had been thinking of leaving her for a long time but she went back and forth about it and the messages that this person sent the former were now making it clear that it was Eris. However, it turns out that the latter had nothing to do with it, and a woman named Makeda, also Zay's friend and someone she had slept with in the recent past was the one behind all this commotion.

Makeda showed no remorse and said she did what she did to help Zay who she believed was clearly wanting to get out of the marriage and this was a push in the right direction. Makeda also claimed to have been sleeping with Eris ever since she last slept with Zay. This was when Eris was asked to join the video call and confront Makeda and it was revealed that there was no truth to those claims. Zay was completely disappointed in how all of this unfolded but she's continued to make efforts to rebuild her relationship with an equally heartbroken Eris, as per an update provided at the end of the episode.
