Spoilers for Season 2

The newly premiered second season of 'Mr Iglesias' packs a lot of funny sketches from our resident "Fluffy", the titular character Gabriel Iglesias, played by the comedian of the same name. But while Gabe has been a total hit with his students, his luck at finding love hasn't flourished all that much. Several times in this season, we see Gabe's boss Principal Paula Madison (Sherry Shepherd) and coworkers Abigail Spencer (Maggie Geha) and Tony Ochoa (Jacob Vargas) address the topic of him finding a woman who "deserves him".

Lady Luck finally seems to shine for the recovering alcoholic right in the final moments of the show when he meets a woman at a karaoke bar. The only catch: she might soon become his coworker. It's too soon to determine whether it will evolve into love, but right now, what we're worried about is whether Gabe will date a coworker or not.

This season we see the smart and righteous Marisol (Cree Cicchino) becoming a crusader against patriarchal norms in literature, the adults' wariness towards climate change and even calling out a Filipino taco-seller for cultural appropriation. Mikey (Fabrizio Zacharee Guido) finally manages to win her over and their love story begins with what is expectedly the first of many kisses, but that doesn't really concern Gabe.

He is more engrossed in getting his students to go to college, attend Carlos Hernandez's (Oscar Nunez) newly instated drama classes and participate in Green Week like budding pioneers of tomorrow. In his free time, he is busy helping Paula not fall for Playboys and keep Tony in check from getting his creep on with Abby.  The only free time he gets, Gabe spends at DeBlasio's, or Roxanne's, and the latter is where his love story seems to kickstart.

In the final episode, to celebrate the end of yet another fantastic school year, the faculty gathers at Roxanne's and while they're waiting for Paula, Gabe comes across a gorgeous woman (Elora Casados) requesting to have the first go at the bar's karaoke stage. Fumbling and nervous, the woman goes on to belt out some of the most divine vocals ever, stunning everybody in the audience — especially Gabe, more than anybody else.

Noticing how she keeps shooting smiles his way, Gabe's coworkers encourage him to go talk to her, and when he finally gives into the idea, we see Paula arrive. Gabe returns from his conversation with the stranger to find Paula enthusiastic about having finally found a guidance counselor for the school — Jackie. And who would this Jackie be — the very woman Gabe just scored a number from.

In the final moments, as Jackie joins them at the table, Gabe nervously chuckles the word "coworkers" hinting at somewhat of a hesitation from his end about dating one. While we aren't sure if he would be fine with sparking a romance with a colleague, the prospect hasn't entirely gone unaddressed this season. We have seen Abby extra nice towards him, and if we didn't know her innocent, naive self better, it would be assumed as heavy flirting.

Even when Gabe protects Paula from not falling for a player by blowing him away off before a date, Paula is led to believe by Abby that Gabe himself likes her and therefore is blowing off her chances with others. During their extremely awkward confrontation where Paula politely puts him down, Gabe explodes into laughter, chiming in with how ridiculous the idea would be. But never for once does he refuse the possibility because they are coworkers. So maybe Jackie being one isn't all that terrible? As his coworkers put it, it's high time he got back into the scene. And by the looks of it, things brewing between the two look quite spicy!

'Mr Iglesias' Season 2 is available for streaming on Netflix now.
