'Mouse' Episode 5: Yo-han's lie about his alibi makes him suspicious but Ba-reum might be hiding bigger evil

Ba-reum had initially seemed like a nice guy in 'Mouse' but is he really?

Yo-han might continue to try to kill Ba-reum as he is the only person alive who saw Yo-han after following him from the site of Bong-yi's almeoni's death. However, Ba-reum had met with an accident leading to a hazy memory of whoever he had been following. While Ba-reum is dead set on finding the killer, he is not aware of how he might be indirectly involved with the murderer. After all, both he and the killer have something in common and that is the DNA that psychopaths share.

Of course, Dr Daniel Lee had mentioned that out of 100 cases, one case with the DNA strain common with psychopaths will belong to a genius. There is only a slight difference between a genius and a psychopath when it comes to DNA strains and that makes it difficult to guarantee 100 percent that an individual with this strain will grow up to be a killer. So the difference between Ba-reum and Yo-han is just this.

'Mouse' Episode 3: Is Lee Seung-gi's Ba-reum son of Headhunter? He will face the villain soon

‘Mouse’ Full Cast List: Meet Lee Seung-gi, Lee Hee-joon and rest of the actors from tvN K-drama

In the end, the one person who can put the Headhunter and his son's deeds to an end and get justice for the survivors and the one left behind by the victims of their action might end up being none other than Ba-reum. Not because he is good, but because he might be hiding bigger evil underneath the facade of being an innocent officer. He will be aided by one of the victims of Headhunter's crime. Detective Go Mu-chi will train Ba-reum and support him. We would call this poetic justice were Ba-reum really the victim. However, from what we have seen so far, he seems more capable of killing at the moment than anyone else.

However, what really is interesting is the reason why Yo-han ended up becoming the blood-thirsty monster that he is alluded to be. From when he was young, his character was looked upon as scary, strange and even disturbing. In keeping with this, Yo-han had killed puppies, fish and even his family members. He did of course leave his mother alive, but there seems to be more to their relationship than meets the eye.

For instance, how is Yo-han's mother able to forget the murderous and psychopathic characteristics that Yo-han had portrayed? Despite evidence that shows that Yo-han is the killer, there is somehow a dissonance between Yo-han and the killer who calls Mo-chi. This dissonance makes us wonder if Headhunter is the one who actually calls the shots when the person who kills is someone else. If not, the prison guard's death doesn't make complete sense. Then there is the finger that points at the cross, which marks a clear connection between Yo-han and the serial killings.

As a child, he had approached the church to question if God too had perceived him as a monster. It is all little crumbs of bread placed strategically by the murderer to help the cops form a picture, but will this also lead to the killer's capture? This is something that the episode will further touch upon.

On a side note, we find Moo-chi's brother, the Father of the church very suspicious. How could he have forgiven the man who killed his parents and hurt him so much?

'Mouse' will air on Wednesday and Thursday on tvN and can be streamed on Viki.
