A mother's post has gone viral on Twitter for all the bizarre reasons as she has claimed that her 6-year-old son has no idea that Donald Trump was the president of America for the last four years. The unidentified woman, who posted a lengthy message in a Binders Group on Facebook, said that her six-year-old believes that Barack Obama is still the president, Newsweek reported. Her post was re-shared on Twitter by a username called "dont call me cruton", the caption of which read, “So this was posted in a binders group and I—wow.”

While the original post from the mother stated, “Hi Binders! It's still 2008 in my home. That is, my 6-year-old son assumes Obama is president, he knows Biden is president-elect, but he has no idea Trump exists—which is a deliberate parenting choice I made that spun a little out of control over the past four years. In 2016, I deliberately shifted the way my family consumes information. I swapped all of our print subscriptions for digital, keeping headlines far from the eyes of my curious son. During our morning commute, I changed the channel from NPR to indie music. We stopped watching TV news entirely. I thought the election was a mistake that would soon be corrected, and I'd never have to tell my child about Trump until much later—but that didn't happen."

She later stated that there came a point when her “lie of omission became something I couldn’t resolve, which is why I continued it. And in a way, it’s been nice. All of the noise and tweets and scandals don’t exist in my house. It feels like I have some control in a chaotic world.” The woman also added that she attempted to “sell this pitch in September and October, and I didn’t get anywhere. I think I should go ahead and write the essay before I try again to place it - but I know time is running out. And I’m not sure if it’s even a good idea or if I’d be wasting my time. Do you think this is a good fit somewhere? Should I make the effort to try again?”

The mother’s amusing lie has caught the attention of many on the internet. One person reacted to it and tweeted, “This child is going enter school and pretty quickly discover his mother lied to him, changed his reality, for four years. If it doesn’t happen at school, it absolutely will happen in a dating relationship.” Another one said, “She just completely destroyed her son's ability to trust his parents about anything, starting as soon as he has a single unsupervised conversation with anyone outside the house. I hope she doesn't keep him locked away out a sense of self-pity.”

“This makes no sense. Her 6-year-old son would have been 2 in 2016. He couldn't read. He didn't know about presidents. Is he not in Kindergarten now? He has no contact with the outside world? What a weird lie to make up,” the third user asked while the fourth one added: “This reminds me of one where these parents had, for shits & giggles, convinced their kid that harry potter magic was real & that she'd be going to hogwarts? like, there's a point where it stops being cute & starts doing harm... these parents sure do feel awfully entitled to lie.”
