Jason Momoa is already being linked with his 'Game of Thrones' co-star Emilia Clarke shortly after he and actress Lisa Bonet announced they were ending their marriage of five years.

Clarke, 35, and Momoa, 42, became one of the most discussed on-screen couples after appearing on the first season of the acclaimed HBO series. MEAWW previously reported on speculation whether Bonet was scared of Momoa cheating as the erstwhile couple broke apart after 16 years together. We also reported how some fans were blaming his 'Aquaman' co-star Amber Heard for the split.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times," Momoa and Bonet said in a joint statement released on Instagram. "A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so, we share our Family news, that we are parting ways in marriage." They continued, “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy- But so that- as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other -to be who we are learning to become… Our devotion is unwavering to this sacred life and our Children. Teaching our Children What’s possible, Living the Prayer May Love Prevail! Momoa and Bonet began dating in 2005 after meeting at a jazz club. They tied the knot over a decade later in 2017 and have two children together, namely Lola and Wolf. Shortly after news of the split made the rounds on social media, Momoa's old Instagram photos with Clarke started surfacing, with fans speculating whether she was the reason behind the separation.

Momoa and Clarke played Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen in 'Game of Thrones'. In August 2021, he had posted a series of pics of him carrying his co-star in his arms and calling her the "Moon of my life". “This was posted August 2021, and has nothing to do with their divorce, my goodness! It’s January 2022!" one fan sarcastically commented on the post. “So @emilia_clarke is a HOMEWRECKER now?" a comment read. "I knew it was a reason this felt so off the first time I saw it...How are you so COMFY on the lap of a married man… ooooh girl 🔥" someone else chimed in. "If we see pics on these 2 in Cancun in a week then we know," another added.

There may have been other subtle hints by Momoa in the past. Aside from his "Moon of my life" comment, the 'Aquaman' star once snapped a photo with Bonet and Clarke backstage at the 2019 Oscars, later writing that they were both his queens.

Twitter was also inundated with comments linking the two stars. "Who else thinks Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke gonna get together now," one fan tweeted. "Less than 1 year from now: “Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke announce engagement," another added. "Emilia Clarke has probably been comforting Jason Momoa for a while now," a user offered. "Not yall thinking Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke) is the reason for Jason Momoa's divorce. Anyway, the two of them would be cute you know sun and stars, moon of my life tings. Take us back Khal Drogo!" another wrote.
