Money Heist’ has been undoubtedly one of those series that put Netflix on the world map. The series, which was initially released with its Spanish name ‘La Case De Papel’, became a huge phenomenon when it was picked up by the streaming giant in late 2017. The show was being telecast on one of Spain’s television networks and did not get good reviews. But, the Netflix acquisition turned out to be a game-changer as the show went on to become one of the most successful shows in Netflix’s history.

After enthralling the viewers with four magnificent seasons, ‘Money Heist’ is now set to take everyone on a thrilling journey with ‘Volume One’ of the show’s final season. The series revolves around a group of people who carry out heists inside prestigious banks such as the Royal Mint of Spain and the Bank of Spain. However, things get interesting when the group deals with the elite police forces and carry forward with their plans.

The upcoming season will be all about survival and how the group go ahead with their heist at Bank of Spain even when the Professor’s location has been compromised. It won’t come as a shock if the latest season breaks every viewing record for Netflix. By 2018, the series was the most-watched non-English-language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix and it seems something similar is going to happen this time around as well.

Here’s everything we know about ‘Money Heist’ Part 5 Volume 1.

Release date and how to watch

The first part of ‘Money Heist’s final season will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on Tuesday, September 3. According to the Netflix press site, the season will be dropping at 3 am EST. Viewers can download the Netflix app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store for free. They can choose various subscription plans and start watching the previous four seasons as well.

Plot

“The gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.”

Spoilers

During the final moments of Part 4, Alicia tracked down the Professor and was ready to shoot him.

In his plan, The Professor told the world about the torture that the government and law enforcement agencies inflicted on Rio. The interview sent shockwaves throughout Spain and forced the authorities to hold a press conference and deny these claims. However, as always, the Professor was ready for it and he sent out a second video which saw the torturer confessing to his actions.

On the other hand, he also shared a video that saw that the government had illegally captured Lisbon after he learned that her death had been faked. Things were not looking good for the government and asked Alicia to take all the blame. When everyone thought that she was going to do the same, she just flipped the game by saying it was the government who ordered everything.

Her insane move ended her career and gave her a chance to track down the Professor on her own.

Cast

All the original cast members are returning for the show’s final edition. Ursula Corbero will be back as Silene Oliveira (Tokyo) while Alvaro Morte will be reprising the role of The Professor (Sergio Marquina). Meanwhile, Pedro Alonso will be playing Berlin (Andres de Fonollosa) once again.

Alba Flores (Nairobi), Miguel Herran (Rio), Jaime Lorente (Denver), Esther Acebo (Stockholm), Darko Peric (Helsinki), Najwa Nimri (Alicia Sierra), and Enrique Arce (Arturo Roman) will also be back on the show’s final season as well.
