Kassandra, Benjamin, and Mason Sweeney: Minor CHARGED for killing New Hampshire woman and her sons
NORTHFIELD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: A child has been arrested for the murder of a mother and her two sons who were found shot to death recently. The juvenile has now been charged for the triple homicide in Northfield, New Hampshire. Attorney General John M Formella, state police Col Nathan Noyes, and Northfield Police Chief John Raffaelly made the announcement in connection to the incident.
Formella said that a juvenile was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of falsifying physical evidence in the deaths of Kassandra Sweeney, 25, and her two sons, Benjamin Sweeney, 4, and Mason Sweeney, 1, on August 3, 2022. Police officers arrived at Sweeney's home last week after responding to a 911 call for help. Upon arriving, they discovered the three bodies inside the house. According to autopsies, all of them had been killed by single gunshot wounds.

Due to juvenile law, Formella or the police did not reveal further details about the suspect. It is unknown whether the child knew the family. "As previously reported, the investigation to date has revealed that on August 3, 2022, at approximately 11:33 am, law enforcement officers arrived at 56 Wethersfield Drive in Northfield, New Hampshire in response to a 911 call for service. Upon their arrival, officers located the three deceased individuals inside the residence," a statement by the Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General read.
"Since the alleged perpetrator is a juvenile, the law precludes any further information from being released," the statement added. "The charges and allegations against the juvenile are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."

Authorities have thanked Sweeney’s husband and the children’s father Sean Sweeney for being “very cooperative and helpful in this investigation.” "He is obviously beyond devastated as a result of these crimes,” senior assistant attorney general Geoff Ward said.
Kassandra's cousin Alizabeth Dawson launched a GoFundMe on behalf of Sean Sweeney. At the time of writing this article, $47,167 had been raised raised of the $50,000 goal.
In an August 7 Facebook post, Sean Sweeney wrote, "I wanted to thank everyone for the outreach and support, while things will never be "normal" again my body finally shut down and let me get some sleep last night and I woke up feeling as "normal" as possible. Thank you to everyone who has spent the last few days ensuring that the random idiots online are properly informed and while I still am unable to confirm anything as to what happened and who is responsible I'm beyond words to those who just know better and are stopping my name from being dragged through the mud and for making sure the rest of the world knows that my beautiful wife was the most amazing, caring, sweetest all around good person that anyone could ever meet and just how much she loved our boys. It is our job now to keep their memories alive."
