Model Kimora Lee Simmons thanks fire department for saving her family after flames engulf home
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kimora Lee Simmons, the renowned fashion icon, recently took to social media to express her heartfelt thanks to the fire department for their heroic efforts during a fire at her home.
"The single mom of five kids" also reassured her followers about her safety and her children praising the firefighters for their prompt and efficient response.
Simmons is the proud mother of five children. She shares her daughters, Ming, 23, and Aoki, 21, with her former husband, Russell Simmons.
Her son Kenzo, 14, is from her relationship with Djimon Hounsou, and she has an 8-year-old son, Wolfe, with her estranged second husband, Tim Leissner. In addition, she adopted a son, Gary, in 2020, who is now 10 years old, per People.

The 48-year-old entrepreneur, Simmons, revealed on December 2, that her home had been engulfed in flames.
She shared the news on social media, posting pictures of the first responders in action and the resulting damage.
She reassured her followers that her family was safe and expressed her gratitude to the fire department, whose timely intervention, she believes, may have saved their lives.
Simmons took to her Instagram Story to share the unsettling news, "My house caught fire. The kids and I are all fine," she wrote.
Accompanying her words was a photo depicting members of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) in front of her home’s smoke-filled fireplace.
"I cannot express the deepest gratitude to the numerous battalions, ladders and units that attended to us for many hours today and quite possibly saved our lives," she went on and added, "THANK YOU!❤️🥺."
In one of the images shared by the former model, four members of the LAFD, equipped with axes and fire extinguishers, can be seen standing in front of a smoke-engulfed fireplace in what seems to be a lounge area in Simmons' home.
The carpets were rolled back, and the area surrounding the fireplace was strewn with debris.

Simmons, the model-turned-mother, also shared a series of other photos capturing the LAFD's heroic efforts as they battled the blaze in the smoke-filled room.
The incident at Simmons’ family home follows her candid conversation with PEOPLE in May, where she opened up about her experiences, challenges, and the unique joys of being a single mother.
"Being a single mom, I think about my kids all the time and that's it. My kids, their friends, my other kids, like, you know, I have a lot," Simmons stated.
"[My kids'] smiles, I feel like that's the work that I do every day to keep that smile on their face. And again, that 'smile' means so much."
