When will 'Mixed-ish' Season 1 be back? Here's what fans can expect when the show returns with Episode 10
Viewers might be disappointed to learn that there will be no new episode of 'Mixed-ish' airing this week as the freshman comedy from Kenya Barris has gone on a one-week break. Starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tika Sumpter, Arica Himmel, and Gary Cole to name a few, 'Mixed-ish' is the second spinoff from 'Black-ish' after 'Grown-ish'.
'Mixed-ish' chronicles the life of young Rainbow "Bow" Johnson (Himmel) growing up in the 80s. When her family is forced to leave the commune -- the only life Bow has ever known -- Bow must learn to adjust with her life in the new world. But, it is more difficult for Bow and her siblings, Johan and Santamonica, because they are biracial. Over the episodes in the show's first season, we have seen Bow grappling with her identity and reconciling between her white and black sides.
Most shows have gone on a break from the middle of last week considering it was Thanksgiving week and this seems to be the reason why 'Mixed-ish' has also opted to go on a break this week. The next episode, the 10th, will air on December 10th.
When 'Mixed-ish' comes back next week, the episode will also be the fall finale for the first season -- but rejoice! The episode is Christmas themed. So how do the Johnsons and the rest of the family celebrate their first Christmas together and out of the commune (for some of them)?
It turns out, Alicia and Paul did not celebrate Christmas when they were in the commune, but rather observed winter solstice traditions. They will try to do the same this Christmas, however, their parents want them to celebrate a more traditional Christmas with their grandkids. Meanwhile, Harrison (Paul's dad) and Alicia's dad will compete with each other to be the kids' favorite granddad.
'Mixed-ish' returns next week with a new episode on December 10th.
