Amber alert cancelled: Missing North Carolina infant found dead at cemetery after mom's arrest over robbery

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: The body of missing 6-month-old North Carolina boy was found early Saturday morning at a cemetery called Sharon Memorial Park. The infant's mother Tamara Brown has been arrested.

An amber alert for the infant identified as Chi-Liam Cody Brown-Erickson was issued at around 10 pm on Friday by The Matthews Police Department after his mother Tamara Jernel Brown, 30, was arrested on a charge of robbing two individuals at a Walmart in Galleria Boulevard, reports Fox 46.

She was also charged with assaulting a government official. It was reported that she was arrested because the police were looking for her and her son. The police were looking for them at around 7 pm on Friday after it was said that the mother and son were last seen in the Uptown area around Friday noon. The report added that Brown could have a mental health disability. She lives on Gander Cove Lane in Matthews but had not been there since Thursday.

Brown was found by police at 10 pm and was taken into custody charged with the Walmart robbery with victims claiming they were assaulted and had their personal property stolen. One victim said they were bitten and spat on. Since the infant's whereabouts were unknown and Brown was not cooperating, the Amber Alert was issued.

Chi-Liam was found at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte around 4 am on Saturday. Matthews and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police departments are both part of the investigation and around 10:30 am on Saturday they confirmed that the body was that of Chi-Liam Cody Brown-Erickson. What was initially considered a death investigation now has homicide investigators involved, the report quoted police as saying.
