COHASSET, MASSACHUSETTS: A friend of missing 39-year-old Ana Walshe, who was last seen at her home at 4 am on New Year’s Day, said Ana “was the breadwinner of the family." Her husband Brian Walshe, who got arrested on January 7 for misleading the investigation into his wife's disappearance, one day after Ana went missing, struggled to keep up with her.

Speaking to The Sun, Natasha Babushkina told that she knows "something horrible has happened" but she is still hoping for that "one in a million" chance that Ana is alive. She described Ana as an extremely caring person and added by saying that she always spoke "highly of everyone", including her husband. However, "she was not very open about the past with her husband or what he does," explained the friend, who further said, "Ana would never mention what he was doing professionally, which I thought was really odd, but I knew there was a pending case against him and that she was the breadwinner of the family."

Brian was caught selling fake copies of Andy Warhol paintings on eBay and in April 2021, he pleaded guilty in US District Court in Boston to wire fraud, interstate transportation to defraud, possession of converted goods, and unlawful monetary transaction, as previously reported.

'Brian was trying to keep up with Ana'

Talking about the duo, Natasha said Ana, whom she met a few months ago, never spoke about the problems between her and Brian. She said, "Ana was free-spirited and in my eyes more successful than her husband. He was trying to keep up with her. But I know for sure she was more of a breadwinner, fixing all the problems in the family. It's hard to say [if they had any relationship issues] because Ana would avoid the conversation about what happened to her husband. We did know about him misrepresenting the Warhol paintings... he was caught in the lies and it was all still hanging over him. But when it came to her husband, Ana would just always change the subject."

Narrating Brian's criminal past, she said, "He lied in the past about the artwork. It does not speak highly of the integrity of the person. I don't want to make any assumptions, honestly, until anything is proven, of course. But it's shocking because you never really know people, right?" Brian is being held at $500K bond, who appeared in Quincy District Court on January 9 and will appear again in court in early February, as per 7 News Boston.
