It looks like Miley Cyrus has found a curious way to promote her new music by trolling her fans. But anyone who fell victim to such trolling won't be upset this time around. Cyrus has got her 44.8 million Twitter followers hyped since she teased a comeback and long-awaited new album last week. The songstress has been sharing cryptic and humorous posts on her verified Twitter account, which reveal that she has been teasing fans via text messages on her own hotline.

Last year, Cyrus announced a hotline for her new music, 1-833-SHE-ISMC, where you could call to hear new music. If you called, the singer would say, “Hello, thanks for calling Miley’s hotline. Press 1 if you’re 18 years of age or older. If you’re under 18, hang up!” If you press 1, you would get a recorded personal message from Miley, and it was an interesting way to hear new music. Additionally, subscribing allowed you to get texts and exclusives from the hotline.

Now, Miley Cyrus herself has been trolling fans (and by trolling, we mean unexpectedly jumping onto your own hotline to scare the life out of fans) by sending humorous text messages. In most of the interactions, Cyrus initiates a brief exchange with fans by saying, "Call me," and after they respond, she texts back "It's Miley." Some of their additional responses included messages like, "Miss Miley you can't DO this to me I thought it was a debt collector my broke a$$ can't take it" and "Now I know Miley ain't got a android luv."

On August 7, Cyrus shared tweets of the fans involved in their interactions. "I forgot I subscribed to texts from Miley Cyrus's hotline for new music and I was so confused and scared at work," said a fan while another wrote, "WAIT LMAOOO i thought someone was messing with me but it was just miley trying to do promo."

One fan said, "No one at work believed it was you, even though I called four times."

Another fan wrote, "YO I WAS JUST AS LOST; I was getting coffee with a friend and we spent like an hour deciding if I should call or text back since I couldn’t figure out who this is..."

News of the upcoming seventh album, titled 'She Is Miley Cyrus', started back in 2017. Cyrus had shared details of the LP but its release never saw the light of day. Some of her initial posts on the album have been deleted. Additionally, with her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in 2019, the project would continue to be stretched, leaving fans wondering if they would ever see it.

But given the fact that Cyrus is dropping a new single, 'Midnight Sky', next week, the album's release looks promising. Cyrus took to Twitter to announce its release date is officially set for August 14, sharing its glamorous cover art and wrote, "I know it feels like you’ve been waiting forever and ever .... but no more..... She is finally here. My new single MIDNIGHT SKY. AUGUST 14th. PRE SAVE NOW."
