Mike Tyson smokes $40,000 worth of marijuana a month at his sprawling 418-acre cannabis-themed resort
Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson recently revealed that he and his business partner Eben Britton smoke around $40,000 worth of pot a month at his sprawling 418-acre weed-themed resort.
Tyson, 52, made the revelation on Monday, August 12, while speaking on his podcast 'Hotboxin with Mike Tyson' where he's already welcomed several high-profile guests such as Jimmy Kimmel, Wiz Khalifa, Xzibit, Piers Morgan, Snoop Dogg, Danny Trejo.
This week's guest was rapper Jim Jones.
"I can't believe we're doing this," Tyson exclaims. "I can't believe I'm talking, smoking on a f***ing podcast."
Tyson went on to detail his plans for the unimaginably large marijuana-themed resort he has in the works in Desert Hot Springs which he set up via Tyson Holistic—a company that offers customers a wide array of marijuana merchandise, as well as premium marijuana strains, extracts, and edibles. The resort broke ground in December 2017.
Last October, the company released a full-fledged map for the resort that boasted numerous tourist attractions, including a luxury hotel, a golf course, glamping tents, the world's largest lazy river that will take a full hour for a lap, and even a Tyson University that will teach cannabis cultivation techniques to future farmers.
A guest at the resort can also smoke to their heart's content and can light a joint anywhere inside the park, except in areas where liquor is sold.
While Tyson doesn't grow or produce any of the marijuana himself, he actively participates in the running of his weed empire and ensures that the marijuana and marijuana-themed products he sells—including CBD dog treats and hemp-oil muscle-rub—live up to the high standards he expects from them.
All the strains available at the resort must be cultivated indoors, harvested based on maturity, cured over 30 days to ensure natural flavonoids, naturally derived, hand-trimmed, pesticide-free, and lab tested.
We previously reported that Tyson's quest to conquer the burgeoning marijuana industry does not stop with the resort in Desert Hot Springs.
The 52-year-old is said to also be planning the construction of another Tyson Ranch on the border of Florida and Georgia, despite neither state allowing for recreational pot.
It's not surprising considering how the former boxer has become an outspoken advocate for the beloved herb.
"There are great healing benefits associated with the plant," he told MEAWW. "There is CBD/hemp that doesn't get you high but has so many healing remedies. We put it in our Copper Gel product. It helps with inflammation as well as many other things."
