#MyBodyMyChoice: Governor candidate Garrett Soldano slammed for condemning abortion
Garrett Soldano, who is running to become Michigan's governor, said that he opposes abortion for sexual assault survivors that become pregnant due to rape. In the interview with April Moss, he said that he wants to create a culture that inspires women to know how "heroic" and "unbelievable" they are, and that "God put them in this moment."
"They don't know, that little baby inside them may be the next president, may be the next person that changes humanity, may get us out of this situation may be in the future. We don't know that. We must always, always protect that DNA and allow it to have a voice," Soldano said in the interview. He lists the "right to life" as one of his top campaign issues, and is anti-abortion.

People were quick to slam him for his statements. A user said, "This is the kind of subject that people with no knowledge or experience should stay deeply and profoundly silent on." Another fumed, "This is so messed up and I think I just had a rage stroke." A third suggested, "Here's an idea, let's put something in him for 9 months and see what he says then. Maybe a tapeworm or an earlier is a good start."

A user said, "I don’t even know how to process inhumane garbage like this," while another blasted himc saying, "Listen Garrett, No one will ever tell me or my tribe of females that we should give birth to a baby. This is our choice to make, the reasons will vary why we terminate/keep a pregnancy. This choice will only be made by us alone or with our partner. #MyBodyMyChoice"

Others questioned his behavior based on his regressive thoughts. One user asked, "@GarrettForMI Following up, how many women have you helped God "put" in this type of "heroic" moment?" Another asked, "Does he know about rape from personal experience? Do we need to look into his past?"

Following up, how many women have you helped God "put" in this type of "heroic" moment? 🤔
Does he know about rape from personal experience? Do we need to look into his past?

One user sarcastically commented, "This is a story about a MAN being told by another MAN about how he’s ok with the decision of 5 MEN because their reign of terror on a woman resulted in a MAN being born, so ultimately it’s ok." Another expressed their disappointment, "The fact that a woman sat there and grinned and nodded along..." A third tweeted, "And she just sits there smiling. He talks about adoption well there’s 14000 children in foster care in Michigan that need forever homes."

"I will do everything in my power to protect life and push back against the abortion lobby in Lansing and President Biden's radical anti-life agenda. Abortion providers shouldn't receive our hard-earned tax dollars. Pregnancy centers and organizations that help mothers choose life need our support," his website reads.
