Michael Moore calls Trump 'mass killer', compares him to Osama Bin Laden for American deaths due to Covid-19
Michael Moore has never shied away from being vocal in the media about his distrust of President Donald Trump. Moore once again took the opportunity to voice his opinions about Trump during an "emergency" episode of his podcast, 'Rumble', where he accused the POTUS of being a "mass killer". The host and filmmaker also compared Trump to Al-Qaeda founder Osama Bin Laden, according to a Breitbart report.
"My friends," Moore began. "This is murder. In the extreme. No American other than Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his General Robert E Lee has killed more Americans than Donald J Trump."
Moore also linked his commentary to the recent revelations made by journalist Bob Woodward. The Washington Post’s Associate Editor and former investigative journalist had reportedly claimed that Trump had said he saved the "a**" of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman from pressure from Congress following the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
Trump also had faced a lot of criticism for leaked audio where he is heard acknowledging the deadly nature of the coronavirus but still downplaying its seriousness and severity. "Think about that," Moore said. "Civil War. 600,000 plus dead. Thank you, Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee. We're heading over 200,000." Moore also cited the IHME projection that over 400,000 American citizens will die from Covid-19 by the end of the year, according to a CBS report.
"What if he had chosen to do what any other decent, sane, moral person would have done when informed about this national security threat?" Moore questioned, stating that Trump ignored the truth about the virus in spite of knowing about it as early as January. He admitted that even though it’s true that Trump did not kill Americans "with his own hands", he still holds Trump responsible for their deaths and proceeded to liken him to Bin Laden.
"I can tell you for a fact that Osama Bin Laden did not fly a single one of those God damn airplanes. So he's innocent? No! Trump is a mass killer," Moore stated. "Trump stood down and knowingly allowed 200,000 Americans to die. That is 67 9/11s. Take the dead of this day, take the dead of 9/11, multiply it by 67 times and that’s how many people have died of the coronavirus. Trump knew. So much could have been avoided."
The filmmaker also said that there were just 53 days left for "bas***d" Trump and urged people to not pay any heed to Trump's supporters. "You need to spend all that energy on getting out the people who are probably not going to vote — the people who need to join you and me and remove this son of a b***h," Moore added.
