Michael Jackson was 'chemically castrated' by father Joe, his doctor Conrad Murray had claimed
King of Pop Michael Jackson had quite a turbulent life, especially during his later years. And adding to the list of possible woes he was struck by in his life are claims that the singer was "chemically castrated" by his abusive father, Joe Jackson, just to maintain the high pitch of his voice. These claims were made by none other than Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death. Murray had spoken out after the death of Michael's father, Joe, in June 2018. Despite being much disgraced over the accusations against him, Murray blasted Joe's "cruelty" towards his children, especially Michael.
Murray said: “Joe Jackson was one of the worst fathers to his children in history. The cruelty expressed towards Michael that he experienced at the hand of his father. The fact that he was chemically castrated to maintain his high-pitched voice is beyond words.”
The “chemical castration” theory put forth by Murray stems from allegations that Joe had Michael receive hormone injections at the tender age of 12, just to cure his acne. Along that was also his motive to prevent Michael's voice from deepening.
Michael had died at the age of 50 from a drug overdose in June 2009. But it was only in 2016, that the 65-year-old Murray had initially made the allegation in his self-published book “This Is It! The Secret Lives of Dr Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson."
However, back in 1993, Michael himself had told Oprah Winfrey all about the abuse his father had inflicted upon him and his siblings. He even recounted instances of how his father would sit with a belt in his hands as he and his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon would go about their rehearsals The Jackson Five during the 1960s. He had said: “If you didn’t do it the right way, he would tear you up, really get you.”
Michael had died from a lethal mix of propofol and other sedatives, and Murray was convicted as some of these drugs had been prescribed to the late singer by him. Despite still insisting that he's innocent, the doctor has already served four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
As for Joe Jackson, post his death, several family members have leaped to his defense with regards to these allegations. Michael’s own son, Prince Jackson, lashed out against these claims on Instagram, writing: “Keep talking all the s* you want that he abused my dad. He raised these kids right, otherwise, they would have been in gangs or f**** dead.”
Joe's impact on his family, especially Michael's children seems to have been quite immense, as following his death, Michael's daughter, Paris Jackson, had posted an equally loyal, sweet and touching tribute to her late grandfather, on Instagram, calling him the greatest "patriarch" that ever was.
