Met Gala 2023 viewers are missing the 'showstoppers' of fashion's biggest night

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The 2023 Met Gala was a star-studded event that saw several of Hollywood's biggest names show up in their most fashionable attire. However, many A-listers opted to skip out on the biggest fashion night of the year.

Before the 2023 Met Gala, there were reports that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was being very selective about who would make the guest list. In March 2023, insiders reported that none of the Kardashian family members would be invited to attend. However, despite these reports, three of the Kardashian sisters - Kim, Kendall, and Kylie - were present at the event.

Met Gala 2023 best dressed stars: Anne Hathaway, Gisele Bundchen and Jackson Wang rule the red carpet

Blake Lively, who has landed on best-dressed lists year after year, revealed that she was skipping the event and instead would be witnessing the main event from the comfort of her couch. Although she did not give an exact reason for her absence, Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds did just welcome their fourth child. Other notable absences included Zendaya, Timothy Chalamet, Nicki Minaj, and Bella Hadid, among others.

'Met Gala is incomplete without Blake Lively'

Fans were devastated to learn that the Queen of Met Gala Blake Lively won’t be in attendance. She confirmed she wouldn’t be attending by telling People, "I will be watching." Disappointed fans were quick to react on Twitter, with one saying, "The met gala is not the same without Blake Lively." Another said, "What’s a met gala without the show stopper herself Blake lively." A third added, "met gala is incomplete without Blake Lively," while another shared the sentiment, saying, "Met Gala is missing the queen Blake Lively."

'Where tf was Bella Hadid and Timothee Chalamet'

A devastated fan tweeted, "Oh so #MetGala2023 has no Blake Lively??? Taylor Swift???? Beyoncw???? Ariana Grande??? Selena Gomez?? Anya Taylor-Joy??? Bella Hadid?? Zendaya??? Saoirse Ronan??? Emma Watson??? Lady Gaga??? Billy Porter??? Katy Perry???" followed by a string of crying emojis. Another wrote, "wym there’s no Bella Hadid in met gala??? WTF IS GOING ON?" A third added, "i slept thru the met gala and i’m genuinely glad bc where tf was Bella Hadid and timothée Chalamet i’m pissed," while a fourth said, "No lily rose, no Bella Hadid and no Hunter Schafer. Worst met gala ever." A disappointed fan added, "I’m not going to front the way that @NICKIMINAJ was Karl’s muse at one point in her career I wanted her to turn the Met gala out this year! It could have been epic!"
