Melania Trump wishes a New Year full of 'health and peace', Internet asks 'what about kids in cages?'

'As 2020 ends, we remember the loved ones lost & give thanks to our leaders, frontline workers & others who have come together to fight the global pandemic,' Melania Trump wrote.

On New Year's Eve, first lady Melania Trump took to Twitter to address the nation and wish the people of the country a great year ahead, only to be met by trolls who reminded her that she and her husband will be moving out of the White House on January 20 to make way for the new administration. 

"As 2020 ends, we remember the loved ones lost & give thanks to our leaders, frontline workers & others who have come together to fight the global pandemic. The resilience of our country is strong. I send my best wishes for a #NewYear full of health & peace," she tweeted. 

A number of negatives reactions followed in response to the her tweet. "Happy New Year! Teach your husband that until he's a POTUS he has obligations towards us. He still did not CONCEDE the election!!!! He is not a king nor he does own the USA! He works for us - we pay his salary!" one of them said, while another wrote, "Is that regular peace or fahking peace?" A third noted, "She's planning to divorce Donnie in 2021. We'll see how good her lawyers are." "What about kids in cages Be Best bye bye," another added.

One more commented, "Thank God it will start with anew administration SOON!!!!!" The next tweeted, "OFFICIAL NOTICE: Your eviction will occur on January 20." Another quipped, "Why do I not believe this?" A commenter wrote, "Wow. This is out of touch." Another said, "The problem I have with this statement is who it's coming from. As a member of the family of the man who worked hardest to spread the virus in the U.S., anything you said would strike me as problematic at best." One more quipped, "Give it a Rest. Your efforts need to be about 'Be Best' packing and Leaving Washington ASAP. And take your two children with you."

We recently reported that days after President Donald Trump took to Twitter to express his displeasure at the fact that his wife was never put on the cover of any magazine during her time at the White House, Stephanie Wolkoff, a former aide and friend to the FLOTUS, came forward with a taped conversation between her and Melania which clearly suggested that the first lady did not care about being featured on the covers of fashion magazines. 

During an interview with CNN's Don Lemon, Wolkoff revealed the exclusively recorded audio of a conversation that she had with her former boss in the Spring of 2018. "I am glad I, you know, when I, Vogue said like oh, we want to do a profile. Profile? F you profile. I don't need profile. Oh, they came back, they came back after like two months ago, they came back," Melania was heard saying on the tape. 

"Oh they did?" asked Wolkoff, to which Melania replied, "Yeah, what I need another profile? It might be a cover, I'm like might be a cover? I don't need, I don't give a f**k about Vogue and any other magazine. I have, I have other stuff that they want to do or other magazine. I'm like for what? What will I do for?... Another photo shoot? Go and Getty Images and get the pictures and you will see me. Okay. Seriously?"

There was a lot of laughter from Wolkoff, followed by the question. "You're not the September cover?" Melania continued, saying, "Are you kidding me? No way... they would never do it. No way. All these people they are so mad. They are so... you know some people they say like, well, they're jealous they want to be you. They cannot believe, there are all these designers that they, you know they say, 'Oh, we will never dress her,' like it's almost like I need their help, you understand?" She added: "I'm doing so much important, more important stuff. It's you know, that's why it's like do I care? I don't."
