It’s been about a year ago since Melania Trump and her husband Donald Trump left the White House. The pair began their time away from the immediate spotlight in January 2021, after President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. However, the former first couple chose to leave the White House in an unconventional manner by not attending Biden’s inauguration and going straight to their Mar-a-Lago resort instead.

But Melania’s sightings got even more limited after that. In April, she was seen at a GOP fundraiser at the resort and also attended a few dinners with Donald through the spring. But after that, she again went into hiding and was nowhere to be found. She didn't bother to re-emerge even at Trump's birthday bash in June. Later in September, she made news when she blasted Stephanie Grisham after sources revealed her former aide's new book will spill “secrets about Donald even she doesn't know.” Criticizing Grisham, the former model’s office said, “Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

Is Melania Trump ready to be first lady again? Report claims she supports Donald's rerun in 2024

In October also, Melania was in the news as she showed up with Donald at game four of the 2021 World Series in Atlanta, Georgia. Footage from the game showed a smiling Melania, but cameras were able to catch a shift in her expressions as she was also seen turning away, seemingly rolling her eyes. “Who else gets the feeling that Melania can't stand the sight of her husband," former Obama regional campaign chair Jon Cooper wrote on Twitter at the time, reigniting old rumors that the mother-of-one wants to divorce Donald.

Whether a split is still on the cards or not, Melania has wrapped up her 2021 in quite an innovative way by launching a platform where one can purchase Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of a drawing of her eyes. Speaking about her new initiative, the 51-year-old told Breitbart: “Since leaving the White House, I have envisioned creating a new platform where Freedom of Speech can flourish. My new NFT gallery, MelaniaTrump.com, uses the decentralized nature of Blockchain Technology, and gives a direct connection to people worldwide.”

She added: “My love of the arts is showing in my first NFT, Melania’s Vision, which I created with artist, Marc-Antoine Coulon.  A portion of the sales from NFT will be donated to children in the foster community. My Be Best initiative, Fostering the Future, will provide students a range of technology skills to prepare them for the workforce. I am excited to inspire America’s next generation of entrepreneurs.”

The artist also posted the drawing on his Instagram and wrote a long note about his collaboration with the former first lady. He wrote: "I am very glad and honored to collaborate in this operation with Mrs. Melania Trump. This collaboration has taken place under the best possible auspices with full artistic confidence and with great efficiency and understanding on both sides of the common expectations for such a charitable operation. The project has been clearly defined and its objectives and the charities involved are very much in line with the spirit in which the project was motivated. This is a cause I am also very sensitive to."

Meanwhile, people on Twitter did not seem very appreciative of Melania’s new interest. A user sarcastically asked, “So when is Ghislaine Maxwell stepping into this scam??” Another one wrote, “Maybe you could sell pictures of yourself ‘posing’…oh wait, everybody has already seen them. Never mind.”

“Looks like someone's preparing for hubby to get sent to jail & pay millions in back taxes...needs to start making money. Hey Melanie - I hear Bezos might be available,” a tweet read. Another added: “She's only got a few years left to secure her own income flow. We all know there won't be any inheritance left when the hamberders finally catch up to her hubby.”
