Melania Trump is 'very protective' of son Barron, has made no friends at Mar-a-Lago, sources say
MAR-A-LAGO, CALIFORNIA: Donald Trump's wife, Melania, is relying on her family in Palm Beach, especially her parents and her 17-year-old son, Barron, as her husband faces the possibility of being indicted. According to sources, the fact that she did not have any close friends was not something new. A New York socialite, who knew Melania before she married Trump, remembered an incident when a gossip columnist advised her to try and get close to the then-model.
The socialite told PEOPLE, "I remember a group of us were chatting, and a high-profile gossip columnist was with us who said, 'Oh, Melania is over there. We should all go talk to her because she is probably going to marry Donald,'" adding, "Melania was just one of the girls then, and we all knew her as that. But none of us really knew her then or now."

'Melania's friends are her family members'
Even before her husband was elected president, Melania was regarded as a reclusive person who preferred to spend time with her family over mixing with friends or speaking to the media. Sources said, "Melania's friends are her family members. Many Mar-a-Lago Club members and others know and see Melania. But they aren't friends. They don't get together and gab or socialize. She has always surrounded herself with family. She is a doting mother to Barron and very protective of him. This is nothing new," as per People.
Her ties to the Trump family have stayed unchanged as Trump may be indicted for allegedly paying pornstar Stormy Daniels hush money in 2016.
'She has always put him first'
Speaking about the situation in Mar-a-Lago, sources reportedly said, "Barron has always been a first priority in [Melania's] life. Of course, she is worried and concerned about the legal issues, but she has not done anything more to protect Barron now than she ever did. She has always put him first. She is a good mother," adding, "Melania's parents are also close to Barron and have been instrumental in his rearing." They reside on Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, close to the former first lady, as per People.
Despite all the legal problems her husband was facing and the affair with Daniels, Melania is carrying on with her life as usual. Sources said, "Melania is leading her own life, and still feels happy being at Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by people who love her and who never talk about reality, or bad things about her husband," adding, "She remains angry and doesn't want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned. She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends."
