POTUS Donald Trump and his wife Melania have been redecorating their 2,000 square feet home at Mar-a-Lago over the past few months but is reported that he feels that the living space at his private club "isn't big enough" and will possibly result in conflicts. So the couple is now eyeing properties along Palm Beach if reports are to be believed.

Speculation is rife that Trump and the first family will relocate to Mar-a-Lago after he leaves the White House in January, with news about Melania scouting for schools for Barron Trump in the vicinity adding to the picture. Earlier this month, she visited the Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale which is around 40 minutes away from Trump's club.

A source spoke to Page Six and said that even though Melania has been doing some redecorating at their apartment at the club, the pair are looking to purchase some more property closeby so that they can have more space. The source told the publication, "Melania and Trump are talking to brokers about buying a house in Palm Beach, or nearby, as the living space at Mar-a-Lago isn’t big enough, and there could be some potential conflicts." It is said that the living space at the private club is approximately 2,000 sq ft and has separate bedrooms, sitting rooms, and offices for both Trump and Melania. The space is also being renovated and expanded, as per reports. The couple and their son Barron, 14, are presently in Florida where they are spending the holiday season.

Many social media users were left amused at the reports and took to commenting on the same. One social media user taunted, "But...but...he won the election, no? Why are they househunting then?" Another added, "The new definition for the last refuge of the scoundrel." Yet another shared, "HA HA who the hell is going to finance the home, trump is bankrupt, financially and morally."

There have been some reports that Mar-a-Lago cannot be used as a permanent residence due to a 17-year-old deal that Trump had made to turn it into a social club. The Palm Beach officials said that they will be addressing the issues if Trump officially states his intention to move to the club. While speaking to the Miami Herald, the Palm Beach town manager Kirk Blouin said, "The town is not aware of the president’s intent in this regard and has no evidence to support said claim."

"If and when the town learns, as a matter of fact, that President Trump intends to reside at Mar-a-Lago, it will address the matter appropriately at that time," Blouin added. The publication stated that the Trumps could be looking to stay at Mar-a-Lago temporarily as they look for a more permanent home.

MEAWW had earlier reported that a number of Trump's neighbors at Mar-a-Lago have pushed back and questioned the legality of the first family's plan to live at the lavish resort should President-elect Joe Biden occupy the White House on January 21.

According to CNN, Melania has put her personal interior decorator in charge of the revamp, supervising fixes to the bathrooms and upgrading the suite where her parents are living.

Some neighbors have claimed that Trump is violating a "use agreement" with the Town of Palm Beach that he signed while converting the private estate to a members-only club in 1993. The former real estate mogul, at the time, allegedly agreed that club members, himself included, would not spend more than seven consecutive days and no more than three weeks annually at Mar-a-Lago.
