Meghan Markle 'still anxious' about what her father Thomas would say or do next: Report
Meghan Markle may have been living quite the fairytale - as most people would agree, but the Duchess of Sussex definitely has her share of woes haunting her - especially when it comes to her father, Thomas Markle. The Duchess is still anxious about what he might do - or even say - next.
The tiff between her and her verbally problematic father has been a hot topic shared by countless sources, insiders and publications ever since the date of her wedding to Prince Harry was announced. And as intense Thomas Markle's aversion to his daughter and the recent developments in her life might be, Meghan sadly can't resort to anything except a constant state of worry about what could be coming next from him.
“She is still anxious wondering if this will go on forever,” a source shared with Us Weekly. “She’s worrying about when it will stop, or if it even will.” The tiff had started when Meghan's 74-year-old father was caught in the scandalous act of staging photos with the paparazzi right ahead of his daughter's royal wedding, back in May this year. From bashing the Royal family publicly to calling his daughter's in-laws “cult-like” and “like Scientologists or the Stepford family” earlier this month - Thomas Markle has been ruthless beyond just petty.
Not only he missed his daughter's wedding, but he went on to comment on how Meghan looked "terrified" and sported a "pained smile" during her outings with the 33-year-old Prince Harry. Some insiders have revealed that Meghan is afraid her father might leak out their personal conversation.
“Meghan is so upset over Thomas. She’s upset for a couple of reasons. She doesn’t even know how to communicate with her dad without knowing he won’t exploit her,” the insider revealed on July 20. “She would like to speak to him, but there is no trust there anymore. And it doesn’t seem like it could ever be rebuilt. The damage is done.”
But there's, of course, a silver lining to this dark, gloomy relationship with her father, and that is in the form of her “incredible" relationship with her now husband. “Her and Harry are truly madly in love,” the first source shared with the outlet. “He’s so supportive of her.” And while the Duchess “is still trying to get used to her life there,” she was always prepared for her responsibilities and the changes once they wed. “Her life is dedicated to the monarch – and she knew that going into this,” the source explains. “She doesn’t have much time for anything else.”
And if all fails, Meghan always has her former on-screen father from the popular series 'Suits' - Wendell Pierce - to seek love, support, and guidance from, whenever times are too hard for her. In the wake of all the drama her real father has managed to worry her with, Pierce, who played the role of Robert Zane - aka Meghan's character, Rachel's father on 'Suits' - shared some stern opinions about it in an interview with The Telegraph.
"If you care about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, then that should be first and foremost in your mind before you say anything," he said, addressing Thomas Markle's tactics. "If you love your daughter, just love your daughter. It's not for public consumption."
