'Mayans MC' Season 2 finale sees Potter and Angel's deal go downhill as they both find themselves in the same boat
Major spoilers ahead for season 2 finale of 'Mayans MC' titled 'Hunahpu'
Season 2 proved to be tumultuous for Angel (Clayton Cardenas).
His baby mama Adelita (Carla Baratta) was taken hostage by Potter (Ray McKinnon) early on in the season. The Galindo Cartel and the Mayans' rescue operations also failed since she had planned on remaining hostage in order to keep the mission going. Since then, we barely saw Adelita. Potter's plan was to use her baby as leverage and gain the information that he desires. But it was a given that Adelita would deliver this season itself. The finale episode begins with Adelita giving birth in custody. She is, sadly, cuffed to the bed.
Emily (Sarah Bolger) had given EZ details about Potter's ex-girlfriend - photos of the woman and her child. She stole it from Miguel (Danny Pino) who was gathering this information to use it against Potter in bargain for Adelita's freedom. But Emily passed on the evidence to EZ wanting no harm to come to Miguel. When they go to meet Potter, Angel says that he is sure he wants to use the evidence to save his father and not Adelita adding that she would have also wanted Angel to save his father.
At the same time, he confesses to EZ that since the day that Adelita sent him back after the failed rescue mission, she was broken in half - and is now a changed person. He tells EZ that she showed him a glimpse of who she really is and a glimpse of what he can be. By the end of the episode, as Angel and EZ and the rest of the Mayans are hunting down the Vatos, he receives a text from Potter with a photo of his newborn child. He congratulates him and solemnly adds that both of them now share a common bond.
"We share a common bond now. We both know the unbearable loneliness of losing the woman we love and we both feel a primal familial pain every time we realize that our sons will never know who we are. Welcome to the tribe," he tells Angel.
Angel stares at the recently received picture of his child with tears in his eyes. Then shakes it off.
What is to happen to Adelita and their baby together? How will this be taken forward going into season 2?
'Mayans MC' returns for season 3 (tentatively) in the fall of 2020.
